The primary job is to provide effective information, guidance and support that meets the needs of students and parents and to ensure that graduates secure places at the universities of their choice. The College Counsellor reports to the Head of College counsellors need to provide the following services and possess the skills that enable them to do so in the most professional and competent manner:For each student: Promote the Mission and Objectives of DAIS through their work on career guidance, College exploration and the College application process.

2 Documents and reviews a plan for Grades 9 - 12 students, mapping a clear path from investigating careers and tertiary courses at Grade 11, through to assisting students toward successful completion of University and College applications in Grade 12; Works with individual students to prepare a schedule of key dates for applications to other countries and systems, as required; Provide students and their parents with comprehensive information on a wide range of universities locally, nationally and globally, in an unbiased manner. This includes initial particulars, directing students and parents to appropriate sources and inviting university representatives; Plans and leads special events, including introduction to the university selection process and College fairs; Be able to advise students in such a way that they are best able to match their skills and interests with specific universities and courses of study; Structure and deliver information-giving and processing sessions efficiently; Assist students with scholarship, College entrance and financial aid information.

3 Conducts external examinations such as PSAT and others approved by the school; Guiding students to pursue appropriate summer assignments such as job shadowing, community service or academic-driven projects; Make herself/ himself available to all students seeking subject choice, career guidance and College counselling the parents: Conduct all meetings with parents in school, unless specifically approved by the Head of International Curriculum; Develops and maintains strong relationships with parents that will enable and enhance a smooth journey through the College application process; Meets students regularly according to a published schedule for individual family meets, as well as school workshops to assist with the process; Encourages students, parents and staff to access the College Counsellor , College Office and materials; Deal sensitively, diplomatically and knowledgeably with the concerns of students and parents alike, without allowing personal preferences to interfere.

4 Familiarity with the financial aid DESCRIPTIONACADEMIC37 For the school: Facilitating and managing the counselling process smoothly and continuously; Prepares and updates the College Handbook, a guide for key dates and processes for University and College applications for regions including USA, UK, India, Europe, UAE, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong and others as appropriate; Looks into the design and completion of School Profile and School Report; Gather references from subject teachers, reports from school and resumes from students to write Counsellor 's references for all required universities; Working closely with all colleagues and consulting and informing the all stakeholders of initiatives that may have implications for those operating in other areas; Liaising with the IBDP Coordinator, Form Tutor teachers and others, about student progress, academic and social, with a view to preparing accurate College references.

5 Informs students, parents and staff, as necessary, about students who fail to meet application deadlines; Maintain accurate and impeccable records; Providing assistance to alumni in the transfer process; Promotes the role and success of the College office, including student acceptance into major universities and colleges, throughout the community; Assist the Head of College Counselling in arrangements for the IB Graduation Ceremony; Creates a statistical data base of past admission applications, which is continually updated and used for counseling; Assists the administration in writing and reviewing school policies relating to College counselling; Submit required reports promptly and accurately.

6 Attends orientations, PTMs, Parents forums and sessions as and when the universities: Identifying the right match between a university and each student; Helping the school to send appropriate nominations for scholarships, summer workshops and other such events; Outreach to undergraduate admission offices, particularly in the area of applicant advocacy; Develops and maintains strong contacts with university and College entrance officers in all major regions; Attend such meetings with university representatives outside school, as may be approved by the Head of International growth and development: Broadens her\his knowledge about tertiary education, attend university Counsellor tours and counselling conferences, as decided upon by the school; Maintains a positive relationship with university representatives and other school counselors for professional evolvement.

7 The College Counselor adheres to ethical standards of the counseling profession, and abides by the laws, policies, and procedures that govern the schools. The College Counsellor participates in professional associations and upgrades professional knowledge and skills when DESCRIPTIONACADEMIC
