2 Both manufacturing requests and instructions may be either internal or external to JFN. The Production Engineer generally acts as a service between the engineering and manufacturing functions. The Production Engineer needs a wide understanding of manufacturing processes to effectively plan and manage the Production of engineering products. The following table lists common processes used by JFN, both internally and subcontracted externally: Internal External Reciprocating sawing Grinding, honing and lapping CNC/manual turning Spark erosion CNC/manual milling Wire erosion Drilling Plating TIG welding Painting Stainless steel fabrication Carbon steel fabrication Required skills and competencies Experience in manufacturing and/or engineering environments, preferably with hands-on machining experience Wide understanding of general machine shop and fabrication processes.
