Role Purpose To support and enhance the work of the Youth Offending Team. This will involve working directly with children and young people in the criminal justice system subject to a variety of interventions. The primary aim of the Youth Offending Team is to prevent and reduce offending by children and young people. Main Duties and Responsibilities To act in a supporting role to assist YOT staff delivering a variety of interventions to children and young people aged 10-18 subject to a variety of community and custodial disposals. Transporting of children and young people and their parents and carers Delivery of group work sessions (reparation, offending behaviour sessions, constructive leisure sessions, life skill sessions).

To carry out home visits to children and young people and their parents/carers To act as a mentor for young people in selected cases To support/supervise young people carrying out reparation in the community The maintenance of accurate and timely recording following any contact with a young person and/or their parents and/or carers Attendance at any meetings as required, most notably bi-monthly team meetings and group supervision To contribute towards team and self-development and performance enhancement by keeping up to date with key developments in Youth Justice and childcare Work in accordance with the Council's confidentiality and data protection procedures Job Outline Qualifications Please mark which are Essential or Desirable E/D.
