1 Joint Technical Seminar on EMSD s code of Practice for fresh water cooling towers 2016 edition Details Date : 27 Mar 2017 (Monday) Time : 6:30pm (Registration) 6:45pm - 8:00pm Venue : James Chiu & Dragages Rm, HKIE Headquarters, 9/F Island Beverley, No. 1 Great George Street, Causeway Bay, HK This Seminar is a Joint activity among HKIE-BSD, ASHRAE-HKC and CIBSE-HKB. Programme Highlight: EMSD has completed the review exercise for fresh water cooling towers (FWCT) Scheme for Air Conditioning Systems Brochure (2010 edition ) and code of Practice for water -cooled Air Conditioning Systems (WACS) (2006 edition ) and issued the new editions of fresh water cooling Tower (FWCT) Scheme ( 2016 ) edition and code of Practice for fresh water cooling towers ( 2016 edition ) at the end of December 2016 .

2 The new publications came into effect on 3 January 2017 with a subsequent grace period of 6 months. This Seminar will focus on introducing the application procedures of joining the FWCT Scheme and the major changes of the new editions of FWCT Scheme Brochure and code of Practice for fresh water cooling towers . Speaker(s): Mr. Bruno CHOI, EMSD Mr. Bruno CHOI from EMSD has been working in Energy Efficiency Office relating to FWCT in EMSD for years. He is well-experienced in cooling towers design and is familiar with the assessment and application procedures of joining FWCT Scheme. He has participated and contributed in the review exercise for FWCT Scheme for Air Conditioning Systems Brochure and code of Practice for WACS and he will introduce the latest application procedures and requirements of the FWCT Scheme.

3 Miss Heidi Wong, Ove Arup Ove Arup & Partners Hong Kong Ltd. has been appointed by EMSD as the consultant to review the FWCT Scheme Brochure and the code of Practice for WACS . Miss Heidi Wong is one of the key consultant engineers in the working group and will share the experience and introduce major changes in the new editions of FWCT Scheme Brochure and code of Practice for fresh water cooling towers .
