1 JOINT TRAVEL REGULATIONS Cover Letter 12/01/14 CL-1 JOINT TRAVEL REGULATIONS UNIFORMED SERVICE members AND DOD CIVILIAN EMPLOYEES 1 DECEMBER 2014 A. Authorized Personnel. These regulation changes are issued for all UNIFORMED Service members and DoD Civilian Employees. B. New Regulation Changes. Material new to this change is indicated by an asterisk (*) and is effective IAW the date of this change unless otherwise indicated. C. UNIFORMED Service Principals. This change includes all material and revisions written in the following MAP and/or CAP Items: MAP 111-14(R) -- HHG Weight Limitations Apply to Retirement and Separation Local Moves. Imposes HHG weight limitations for short distance moves when the member is required to vacate Government or Government controlled quarters or privatized housing incident to separation or retirement. Affects pars. 5262, 5318-G2, and 5320-F2.

3 MAP 119-14(R) -- Remove the Authority for the Government to Pay NTS and Member Reimburse. Removes the authority for the Government to pay non-temporary storage (NTS) cost after the entitlement expires for retirees and separates and later collect from the member. Affects pars. 5318-C3, 5318-E, 5320-G6 and G7. MAP/CAP 149-14(E) Actual Expense Allowance (AEA) Limitations. Clarifies computations for Actual Expense Allowance (AEA) when an AEA is authorized for M&IE. Affects pars. 4300; 4330; 4340-B3 and B4; 4340-E1 and E2; 4345; and 4350. MAP 154-14(I) -- Increased TLE for Tyndall AFB, FL Terminated. Terminates the temporary increased number of days TLE for Tyndall AFB, FL. Affects par. 5434-E2.

4 MAP/CAP 155-14(I) -- Change the Definition of CONUS. IAW 37 USC 101, the term Continental United States is defined as the 48 contiguous states and the District of Columbia (DC). Currently, in the JTR, there are pars. that refer to CONUS as being the Contiguous United States . This item updates and corrects references using the word contiguous ICW the acronym CONUS . Affects Ch 6B3e, App A1, and App A2. JOINT TRAVEL REGULATIONS Cover Letter 12/01/14 CL-2 MAP/CAP 157-14(I) USPHS APP W Footnote. Adds APP W footnote applicable to OCONUS PCS assigned USPHS members . Officers assigned to government furnished quarters are limited to shipment of up to 25% maximum of the Officer s authorized weight allowance, with the remainder to be placed in non-temporary storage at the last CONUS permanent duty station.

5 MAP/CAP 162-14(I) -- Spouse Representational TRAVEL . Updates spouse TRAVEL in Appendix E to incorporate changes made to DoDD -- DoD Policy on the Use of Government Aircraft and Air TRAVEL , change 3, dated 24 June 2014. In that revision, 'family member' (dependent) was removed and changed to 'spouse'. CAP 164-14(I) -- USAF Staff Office Reorganization. Updates office symbols for CAP contact info changes following the AF Staff reorganization. Affects JTR Intro, par. G4c(2), and pars. 4095-E2c and 4120-A2d. MAP/CAP 165-14(I) - Remove Husband and Wife. Remove all references to husband and wife to make the JTR gender non-specific. Affects pars. 5208-A; 5336-E; 5388-B; 5404-B; 5452-C; 5654-A; 5838-B1; 5838-B2; 8004-B; 9210; 10202; 10308-G; and App A1--Dependent ( UNIFORMED members Only) item 12.

6 MAP 167-14(I) -- Remove References to Paragraph 10422. Removes all references to par. 10422 which was deleted by MAP 232-13(E) -- Housing for Member in Non-Pay Status effective 7 January 2014. Affects pars. 10402-C, Table 10E-2, and 10414-G, Table 10E-11. MAP/CAP 170-14(I) -- App G Rewrite. This item rewrites App G information moving the detailed information regarding reimbursable and non-reimbursable miscellaneous expenses to Ch 2, Part M; and making a quick reference table in App G for reimbursable and non-reimbursable expenses. MAP/CAP 172-14(I) -- Remove Refs to Pre-Merger JFTR and JTR. Removes all references to pre-merger JFTR and JTR pars. Affects pars. 7095-C2b, 7350-F, 9175-B, 10416, 10426-A2b; and App A1, App E1, and App I3.
