Cylinder and Valve AssembliesDESCRIPTIONK idde fire Systems Advanced Delivery fire suppression ( Kidde ADS) Systems are Listed by the UnderwritersLaboratory, Inc. (UL) and tested by Factory Mutual (FM).These Systems are designed for total flooding in accor-dance with NFPA 2001, Standard on Clean Agent Extin-guishing Systems . These Systems have been tested toUL 2166, Standard for Safety; Standard for HalocarbonClean Agent Extinguishing System Units, and otherparameters established jointly by UL and Kidde ADS system uses a unique method for propel-ling the 3M Novec 1230 fire Protection Fluid (Hereinreferred to as agent) from the storage cylinder, throughthe piping system and out of the discharge nozzles.

2 Nitro-gen gas pressure from one or two separate storage cylin-ders is introduced into the vapor space of the agentcylinder at a controlled rate. This nitrogen pressure actsto propel the liquid agent through the pipe at a higher flowrate. It can also propel the agent farther through the pipenetwork allowing for the placement of storage cylindersremotely from the protected Kidde ADS system is extremely well-suited to appli-cations involving remote agent storage and situationswhich limit the maximum pipe size to be used. The KiddeADS system is capable of using smaller pipe sizes to dis-charge large quantities of a control head actuates the two nitrogen cylinderdischarge valves, the nitrogen pressure actuates theagent cylinder discharge valve and pressurizes the agent is then propelled by its own vapor pres-sure and the nitrogen pressure through the dischargevalve and into the system pipe network.

3 The liquid agenttravels through the system pipe network at a high RANGE LIMITATIONS: The operating temperature range for all componentsused in the Kidde ADS system is 32 F to 130 F (0 Cto 54 C) The agent cylinder operating temperature must bebetween 60 F to 80 F (16 C to 27 C) when protect-ing two or more separate Kidde ADS system installation is based on therequirements of NFPA 2001, Standard on Clean AgentExtinguishing Systems , Current :Both the nitrogen drivers and agent storage cylinders areto be installed in the vertical position only. The nitrogendriver is located to the immediate right apart from theagent cylinder.

4 The nitrogen driver cylinder is connectedto the agent cylinder by using the nitrogen transfer com-ponents.
