Kubota BX Series Reference guide. This guide has been put together to help the current Kubota BX owner or any potential Kubota BX purchaser have a single resource to use to find the answers he or she is looking for about the Kubota BX tractor and all the variants it's had since it inception in 2000. We at Ai2 Products hope this will be a great help to you in finding what you're looking for as it pertains to the Kubota BX Series Sub compact tractors. When Kubota Tractor Corporation introduced the first BX Series tractors back in 2000. they were creating an entirely new class of tractor. The sub compact utility tractor had never been heard of before this and was a Kubota innovation. The sub compact utility tractor today is generally considered any tractor that has all the features of it's bigger brother the compact utility tractor but at or under the 25 hp engine size.

The front loader that was first built for the BX1800 and BX2200 was the LA211. It offered a useable 460 lbs (210 kg) of lift capacity. FYI if you're wondering what the loader model numbers mean??? This is the lift capacity of the loader in kilograms so if you convert this to pounds you’ll get the rated lift capacity Kubota designed this loader

The BX Series from Kubota was the first tractors in their class to combine the performance and versatility of a compact utility tractor with the agility and feel of a garden tractor with Kubota 's legendary durability and reliability. The BX1800. and the BX2200 were the very first models of the BX line and are the tractors that started the 1. entire sub compact tractor utility market we now have today. Every major tractor manufacturer in the world is now building a tractor in this class. The Kubota BX Series tractors offered powerful 3-cylinder liquid cooled diesel engine. Heavy duty frames for years of use and abuse. A factory loader option that was designed, built and sized by Kubota for use on the BX line of tractors. It offered full hydraulics with an HST (hydrostatic) transmission, which is also designed and built by Kubota .

CAT 1 3-point hitch in the rear with a 540 rpm PTO. was standard to run 3-point attachments like rear blowers, mowers, tillers etc. They also had a 2500 rpm mid PTO that was used for running the mid mount mower deck and the front blower and or power sweeper option on the front of the tractor. This was also selectable from the operator's station via a 3-position lever. Another feature of the PTO was an easy-to-operate hydraulic live independent PTO clutch. Most other tractors in this class use an electric clutch similar to the one you find on and A/C compressor in your vehicle. 4WD was a standard option and from what I've seen was the only option available in the BX line. Another unique feature on the Kubota 4WD system is that it allowed you to be in 4WD and it would speed up the outside front tire to help prevent the binding of the front tire which is inherent in all 4WD tractors and even 4WD trucks.

Kubota referred to this as Bi-speed turn in the B- Series tractors. This lets you be in 4WD while mowing or doing loader work in the yard and not get the front tires scuffing the grass or get the bucking you'll feel in a sharp turns with other tractors. They came with a 2-speed H-N-L transmission with rear 2. diff-lock. front hydrostatic power steering was standard giving you almost effortless steering and speaking from experience this is true. The front loader that was first built for the BX1800 and BX2200 was the LA211. It offered a useable 460 lbs (210 kg) of lift capacity. FYI if you're wondering what the loader model numbers mean??? This is the lift capacity of the loader in kilograms so if you convert this to pounds you'll get the rated lift capacity Kubota designed this loader to handle.

This was a bit of info a Kubota salesman told a while back. The LA211 loader featured an easy-to-use attach/detach pin. No tools required to remove. This made it nice for mowing so you didn't have to keep your eye on where the bucket was while mowing around the house or buildings. The roll back feature on the bucket was a single cylinder design to enhance strength and balance. A simple one-lever joystick design was used to operate the hydraulics of the bucket and back then this was attached to the loader and came off when the loader was removed. The loader came with a 48 bucket which by the way is the exact same bucket used today and was the only bucket option available for the tractors then and now. It was not a quick attach/detach design back then which was not a very common feature among other tractors of this size back then and even today there are several tractors in this class that do not offer a quick attach/detach design.

Good thing Ai2 Products came up with the Versa-Daptor quick attach system for the BX back in 2006 to fix this problem. From my information I currently have the backhoe option was not yet available in that first year but was obviously was available soon after this. I will update this info as I learn more. The BT600 was the backhoe that eventually was built for the BX- Series tractors. The TLB (tractor-loader-backhoe) package was also an industry first in the sub compact utility tractor world. The BX23 was the first model that was offered by Kubota based on the next generation BX2230 Series tractor and was a factory package you could order from the dealer. The tractor was decaled as a BX23 and came right from the factory with the LA211 loader and the BT600. backhoe. You could add a backhoe for your BX tractor after the fact if you wanted to also.

I am going to make a personal statement which is not verified by Kubota or any other source, but the TLB market is owned by Kubota !!!! Many other major sub compact 3. tractor manufacturers offer a backhoe option for their tractor. But not as a factory package and not even close to the volume that Kubota has sold over the years. The TLB tractor and all their variants as of today are the BX23, BX24, BX25, BX25D, and the BX25D-1. I speak to all the customers I sell attachments to and I would say that 50% of the people I sell a quick attach to or rock bucket or whatever are a TLB owner and about 50% of those people are contractors or a person who uses there TLB to make money with. Next time you're out and about and at a dealer take notice of how many TLB tractors you see at a John Deere dealer, Kioti dealer or New Holland dealer?

? Drive to your local Kubota dealer you almost always find a TLB on the lot and if not it's because they're sold out and waiting for more. But like I said this is a personal observation and not a statistic I got from my local dealer or Kubota Tractor Corp. So this was just a brief history of the Kubota BX- Series Sub compact utility tractor. I wanted to just highlight the when the tractor was introduced to the market and the options that were available at that time. I am going to put together a sort of timeline of the BX tractors and all the variants that have been offered over the years up to current. Will add to this as new models are released and try be be as accurate as possible with the information we provide. I get my information through various places and web searches. is also an amazing resource of information on tracotr and I use them for alot of my information.
