2 You will first need to drill out the old rivet from the litter receptacle. When you drill into the center of the existing rivet, it will remove the old rivet. TAKE CAUTION when you are drilling out the old rivet that you do not drill completely through the steel slat. To attach the new Lanyard to the litter receptacle, place a rivet through the hole in the tab of the Lanyard . Using a pop-rivet gun, secure the rivet into place.
