Some terms have been left in metricunits where not essential to the understanding ofthe text, others have been converted to U. this publication compliments my own Side-car Manual and my Sidecar Operator Manual, italso contains considerable sidecar model theoryand a rigorous analysis of sidecar and motorcycleframe and chassis design.

In those years almost everycycle could be used with a sidecar and there weremany manufacturers of sidecars who offered awide range of , during the first years of the motorcycleboom the sidecar seemed to have been , when the demand for cycles with sidecarsrose steeply, the manufacturers of sidecars wereable to expand their production to such an extentthat it was possible to buy any type of sidecardesired. It also became apparent that the knowl-edge of motorcycles with sidecars was very sparseand not widespread. For this reason, EdmundPeikert and Friedhelm Feld, members of the Fed-eral Motorcycle riders Association in West Ger-many, held training sessions in riding a motorcy-cle with sidecar in Weiler in the Eifel since participants liked these courses.

The endlessnumber of models offered belong to a large extentto the many and differring fashion trends, suchas Enduro or though the interest in motorcycles withsidecars has grown at a steady rate and will con-tinue to do so, it has not become the fashion anda motorcycle with sidecar has never been offeredin large production numbers.
