When Immaculate Conception, December 8, falls on a Sunday, the Solemnity is celebrated on December 9 and the obligation to attend Mass is not transferred. 2. Whenever Jan 1, the solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, or Aug 15, the solemnity of the Assumption, or Nov 1, the solemnity of All Saints, falls on a saturday or on a Monday, the precept to attend Mass is abrogated 3. The Easter vigil Mass may begin no earlier than 45 minutes after local sunset. Time tables for the Easter vigil can be found in the Pastoral Handbook at Appendix II-5. 2 4. The Bishops of Province VIII, which includes the Diocese of Rapid city , have decided that the Ascension will be celebrated on the 7th Sunday of Easter. 5. When Independence Day falls on Sunday, the special Votive Mass texts are not used. 6. The solemnity is transferred to this date. 7. A Votive Mass of Our Lady of Guadalupe may be celebrated on a weekday before or after December 12 when the 12th falls on a Sunday.
