1 Logix Migration Guide Studio 5000 v21 (Feb 2013) Initial release of Rockwell Automation s new engineering & design environment designed to be the central location for design engineers to design, program and configure all the elements of their control system . Logix Designer (formerly RSLogix 5000) is the first application within Studio 5000. Documentation Now Stored in Controller o New non-volatile memory storage space in controllers is completely independent of the user memory space & stores project documentation & comments, tag descriptions, extended tag properties & alarm log Controller Based Alarm Log o Alarm log stores up to 10k alarms in ControlLogix 5570 controllers, 5k in CompactLogix 5373 and 5372 controllers, and in CompactLogix 5371 controllers. Alarms are now stored and tracked in the controller. Logix Extended Tag Properties o Enable tag description, engineering units, min, max, etc. to be visible by HMI or used in logic without needing to create custom data structures for commonly-used tag information.
