LOWER/LOWEST STEMMONS FREEWAY PROJECT

PROJECT HISTORY:The LOWER/LOWEST STEMMONS projects are break-out projects from PROJECT Pegasus. PROJECT Pegasus received a FHWA FONSI on 7/28/2005. The goal of the Lowest STEMMONS PROJECT is to leverage existing funding to provide interim operational improvements to the congested I-35E corridor. The PROJECT will tie-in with the Horseshoe PROJECT to the south and will be constructed inside the ultimate PROJECT Pegasus Right-of-Way.

3 Some of the main lane weaving movements will remain in place for SP 366/Woodall Rodgers and the DNT. UTP (2015 Unified Transportation Program): NO, LS is not in the UTP. STIP (Statewide Transportation Implementation Program, 2015-2018): YES, LS is in the 2015-2018 TIP PROJECT MILESTONES:1. TxDOT is continuing to develop a preferred baseline alternative, as well as coordinating with the City of Dallas and various local stake TxDOT is evaluating design alternatives for the connections to the Dallas North Tollway.
