5 This Guide is only a tool that may be used to help in selecting the proper Lubricant . Many other factors such as operating conditions must also be considered. Be sure that you have read and understand the Caution/Disclaimer statement found on page Viscosity Grades may be listed as SAE , ISO or NLGI grade numbers. Occasionally, the actual lubricantviscosity will not fall within established grade parameters. In those cases, the viscosity will be listed as its viscosity at 40 C, and called ISO grade.

6 For example, an oil with a viscosity of 39 cSt @ 40 C is neither ISO 32 nor ISO 46, which are the recognized grades. Therefore, the oil will be listed as ISO 46, a non-recognized grade indicating its actual viscosity at 40 Because API service categories change frequently, competitor brands may not reflect their current specification. For example, an oil listed as meeting API SH/CD may have been upgraded so it now meets API SL/CF. Compare the current competitors specifications to those of the potential AMSOIL replacement product.

7 AMSOIL products are listed under their Application Code as one of the replacement. Product is very similar in product. The original lube is probably petroleum based, and is not as good as the synthetic AMSOIL be suitable, self evaluate.
