BLUSHby Sunseeker International 155 From its facilities in Poole on the south coast ofBritain, the second hull of the Sunseeker 155 thecurrent flagship of the large Sunseeker Internationalfleet is due to be delivered to its Owner in summernext year. With a completely different interior layoutand interior design from the first hull, this yacht, currently under construction, was commissioned inspring last year at the Dubai Boat Show. This latest commission just goes to show the level ofenquiry from this ever growing international show, commented Sean Robertson, Sales Director atSunseeker International, at the time. He emphasisedSunseeker s success at this major international boatshow in impacting the market with the acquisition ofthe prestigious contract: We are absolutely delighted tohave sold another 155 Yacht.
The 155 Yacht s intricatedesign and build process allows for customisation of thehighest level and as each yacht is so individual andunique it makes the build ever more exciting. The teamback in Poole can t wait to start work on this and areeager to create something truly bespoke. That spring, the Poole facilities also saw the solemn celebration ofthe launch of the first Sunseeker 155 Yacht, to date thelargest yacht built by Sunseeker International. Theimpressive event to celebrate the launch and deliveryto the vessel s Owner, Formula 1 tycoon Eddie Jordan,in the company of the Group President at SunseekerInternational, Robert Braithwaite, was a fitting eventfor the scale of the yacht. After months and months ofhard work for the engineers and designers whocompleted every phase of the project from concept toconstruction entirely in-house, Robert Braithwaiteexpressed his own great satisfaction and that of theshipyard s entire team: We were incredibly proud tolaunch the 155 Yacht here in Poole with Mr Jordan.
The155 Yacht is a truly iconic British yacht. From drawingboard through to testing, the yacht was designed andbuilt in Poole, so it really is British through and throughand the fact the launch took place in Poole made it allthe more special. The Sunseeker International Group President thenadded a few kind words to thank other supply andtechnical support contributors that made a bigdifference to the flawless success of this ambitiousundertaking: The official launch was a great success andwe would like to thank MTU, the title sponsor of thelaunch event and engine supply partner on the 155 would also like to thank 155 Yacht project sponsorsSES, Tijssen Elektro, Tides Marine,BSS, Geberit, Pipex px and DIAB.
Throughout the construction work atthe Poole facilities, the shipyard steam carried out constant monitoringto make sure that the variousparameters and procedures ofSunseeker International s strictproduction protocol were followed in full. Similarly, when the work was complete, the team carried outrigorous tests and in-depth sea trials to carefully checkthat all components were working properly, to ensuremaximum operating efficiency, and, most importantly,to ensure the solid reliability of the finished product. As well as providing a flawless example of the highbuild quality that the British shipyard has alwaysoffered its clients, the new Sunseeker 155 Yachtintroduces an innovative concept of series building withpersonal customisation in the super yacht sector, basedon a sophisticated modular build methodology thatenables owners to have a direct say not only regardingthe interior design and layout but also the styling of theyacht s superstructure.
This was the approach takenwith the first hull, Eddie Jordan s Blush, where theyard s in-house team worked closely with the dynamicOwner to infuse both the overall design of the yachtand the details of components and furnishings with hisunique, individual signature. By perfectly incorporatingall the aesthetic and technical features requested by theOwner, every aspect of the design gives a faithfulreflection of his vision to make it a genuinely unique, exclusive, super yacht. This begins with the unusual, elegant two-tone livery with the hull painted ice blueand the superstructure painted pure white, and extendsto the luxurious, multi-coloured palette of the interiors, which highlights grey, blue, green and a chic aqua feeloverall.
The convenient layout of the new Blush isintended to accommodate up to 10 passengers in twoguest staterooms, two VIP staterooms and one Owner sstateroom, as well as up to 12 crew in seven crew cabinsand one captain s cabin. The many highlights of the on-board accommodation on the new vessel naturally inaddition to the master stateroom with its private loggiaand open space bathroom include the two VIPstaterooms on the main deck, which have full-heightwindows specially made to create a sensation of lightand space, and to offer a spectacular panoramic s a brilliant design idea which was so successful thatthe Owner of the second 155 Yacht also requested second hull is currently in the advanced phases ofconstruction, but in this case the idea will not bereplicated in the two VIP staterooms but instead in themaster stateroom of the Owner s suite.
However, the private accommodation on board Blush(also featuring two twin guest cabins larger than averagesize, positioned amidships on the lower deck) is not theonly strength of the vessel s layout. It s clear that thespaces and fittings for socialising and entertainmenthave some extremely attractive characteristics that makeBlush one of the most appealing super yachts in her sizeclass. In the central section of the sun deck, a large hardtop protects a lounge area with seating and a wellequipped bar area, while in the aft and forward sectionswe find a sunbathing area with sun beds and chaiseslongues and a sunbathing area with sun pads and araised panoramic swimming pool. On the upper deck, the sliding glass panels make it possible touninterruptedly combine the interior sky lounge withthe external aft deck to create a magnificent, uniquespace with sofas and chairs ideal for private parties.
Onthe main deck, the huge open space salon is the perfectchoice for formal receptions and features a living roomwith sofas, chairs and small tables, served by a bar, anda dining room with a table and chairs, served by thepantry connected to the galley. The SunseekerInternational in-house team worked closely withanother professional British team to create the yacht sinteriors, namely the specialists of Holmes Interiors, who, under the skilful guidance of Sallyanne Holmes, created the interior design exclusively for Blush asspecially requested by the yacht s Owner. A luxuriousand elegant yet also personal, unique style was ablydeveloped for the vessel s interiors, with a balanced mixof glamorous contemporary accents and notes with anArt Deco feel, although without adopting a vintageinterpretation, recalling the fabulous LUXURIOUS AND ELEGANT YET ALSO PERSONAL.
