The first table lists thenatural gas capacities of Equimeter diaphragmmeters at base pressure conditions and atmeter differentials of both 1/2 and 2 ,which is the most common method of present-ing such information. The other tables givemeter capacities at elevated operating pres-sures and for several commonly meteredgases in addition to natural gas. Diaphragmcapacities under pressure must be suppressedfrom the normal Boyle s law multipliers some-what to protect the meter diaphragms fromdamage.

9 These tables do just that and indi-cate the maximum allowable Capacity for eachmeter under various pressure and gas condi-tions for safe, reliable operation. Also listedare capacities limiting the meter differential to2 because a number of utilities place thatrestriction on their use to extend ultimate meterlife.
