The joints coupler shall be polyseal pipe coupler as supplied by Hancor or an approved equal and shall be installed according to the manufacturer s recommendations. The coupler shall have an outer layer of cross-laminated polyethylene with an under layer of rubberized mastic that is reinforced with a woven polypropylene fabric.

4 There shall be a protective film against the mastic that is removed when the collar is applied to the joint. Securing straps shall be located within the coupler : one securing strap in the butt joint groove and one strap in the first groove on each side of the butt joint (between corrugations). The securing straps shall be isolated from the mastic allowing the straps to tension with equal force around the pipe circumference. The coupler shall be (*) in width and designed so that when it is applied around the joint the ends shall overlap at least 8" (200mm). When the straps are secured a polyethylene/ rubberized mastic flap shall completely cover the straps. INSTALLATIONThe coupler shall be placed around the pipe , mastic side to the pipe , and spanning the joint. The protective release film shall be removed and the coupler applied with the overlap at the top of the pipe . The straps shall be secured with the proper tool (outside straps first).

5 The closing flap shall cover the exposed strap work area. *The coupler should be wide enough to span the joint with the couplers outside edge in complete alignment with the top outer edge of the second corrugation of the pipe . Wider couplers and additional securing straps may be required with the bells or dissimilar p 1 Clean the external portion of the joint to ensure that foreign materials do not interfere with direct contact between the mastic sealer and the joint to be sealed. Place the coupler around the pipe , centered at the joint, and then remove the protective film (mastic side facing inward).STE p 2 Make sure that the center strap is in the butt joint groove and that the outside straps are on each side of the joint between the corrugations, and then tighten the straps with the proper tools, starting with outside straps. 30" (750mm) and larger polyseal couplers require banding tool. Banding tool can be ordered from Hancor with p 3 Finally, remove the protective film from the closing flap and cover the exposed portion of the strap, completing the joint.
