It was always UA that commanded my greatest respect, as it was always my toughest competitor.
Over the years, I watched my friends and former colleagues build a lifetime of renewals with UA. It wasn t until my retirement I thought if you can t beat em, join em! I made a call to the UA Home Office in Feb. 2012, and asked to speak directly with Chuck Mankamyer. Chuck took the time to listen and directed me to Ryan Sykes to arrange contracting of my Agency. Taking the plunge and jumping aboard UA was one of the smartest business decisions I had made in years. UA s product line, Home Office support, and competitive rates are an Insurance Agent s dream! INTEREST RATES SETThe Lifestyle Annuity rate for MARCH 2013 is percent. 4 With the ADP, there is no premium due until the end of the first policy year. At that time, the policyholder pays a $10 premium to renew the policy for another year. This product enables Agents to offer valuable protection to their customers and help gain referrals. Download the Marketplace Bulletin for the ADP and take Brainshark online training (available 24/7) on the Agent website. There are no commissions paid for the ADP. ATTN: ALL UA AGENTSNew editable reply cards have been designed to use as inserts with UA s Turning 65 birthday letter. There are two designs from which Agents can choose. The cards have been approved for advertising in every state. Check them out in the UA AdCatalog! WORDS OF WISDOM It is easy to be pleasant when life flows by like a song, but the man worth while is the one who will smile when everything goes dead wrong.
For the test of the heart is trouble, and it always comes with years, and the smile that is worth the praises of earth is the smile that shines through the tears. Irish Sayings 2 MARCH 2013 Charles Mankamyer Senior Vice President / General AgentsI love that Irish expression! It s so positive and upbeat. You ve probably heard another old Irish expression, There s a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Well, its validity is somewhat doubtful, but whether you take it literally or as a metaphor, it s appropriate for what you can anticipate with Medicare Supplement sales. There is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow .. the Senior rainbow. The prospect base for Medicare Supplement sales is great. With 10,000 people turning 65 every day in this country and becoming eligible for Medicare and a Medicare Supplement, your pot of gold should be full for many years to come.
But you can find your pot of gold in other places too! Both Seniors and those under age 65 are deeply concerned about the future of their healthcare, because both the immediate and long-term ramifications of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) are still unknown. Will the cutbacks in Medicare be substantial? Will the Part A deductible and Part B annual premium skyrocket in the coming years? A Medicare Supplement from UA or First UA can help alleviate some of those 65 Market Will employers for those under age 65 continue to offer employer-sponsored health coverage? Will their premiums skyrocket too? Will their deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance go through the roof? You can help provide a solution to some of these concerns with the Foundation Signature Series (MMGAP). This policy gives you a great reason to prospect group major medical policyholders, whom you may not have approached in the past.
See page 5 for to the unknowns related to the ACA, I believe the need for supplemental accident and health products will continue to increase in the years ahead, dramatically boosting the potential of the under age 65 market. But how do you take advantage of the amazing potential that s available to you for both Seniors and under age 65? You increase your Agency s ability to produce by vigorously recruiting and providing the highest quality leads available to those producers. My team and I will be on the road a lot in the coming months with live recruiting and training seminars to provide you the help you need to contract the best new believe a steady flow of high-quality leads can help attract and retain high-quality Agents. Nothing is more attractive to a potential recruit than a contract that potentially provides a neverending supply of quality leads.
I believe UA s lead contract is one of the best in the industry, because it can do just that. Fifteen percent of an Agent s Net Annualized Issued Premium (NAIP) for health sales and 10 percent of their NAIP for life sales is put into a lead account from which funds can be withdrawn to order leads. There is a list of approved vendors on the Agent website and a PDF for download that provides a full explanation of the features and value of the lead program. We'll have more in a future issue of Summit about the importance of the lead contract and how it works to your Expense Mailer Kramer Direct, one of our approved lead vendors, is offering a new Final Expense direct lead mailer. According to Kramer, when tested, the mailer drew double the response of traditional Final Expense mailers. A double response means your lead costs can be cut in half.
If you want to increase your life sales, this could be the way to do it. Go to to learn more about this mailer and the many others Kramer Direct m excited by what I see already in 2013 . Your enthusiasm for UA and First UA products confirms for me that 2013 has the potential to be outstanding for all of us. I look forward to seeing you at a seminar in the coming months and at The Roosevelt New Orleans in 2014 for Convention. Top of the Morning to Ya! There is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow .. the Senior rainbow. MARCH 2013 3 Welcome toWe re lucky You joined Us!
