This is an opportunity for us to celebrate the place of Catholic education in our parish community. I am grateful that so many of our local fami-lies have chosen a Catholic education for their children.

2 The unique aspect of a Catholic education is that it seeks to nurture the full development of each children in a faith filled environment. This year we are grateful that our new bishop, Bishop Robert Brennan, will be visiting us during Catholic Schools Week. He will spend the morning with us on Tuesday meeting with the parish and academy leadership and visiting the stu-dents. Last year I established the Hope Fund in order to have funding available to assist with cases of necessity among our school community. The fund has been slowly growing over recent months thanks to a few unique charitable gifts from parishioners who wished to assist struggling families with tuition. I would be happy to share additional information to anyone interested in supporting the Hope Fund.

8 In person class will start on February 6th, please contact Karen @ 718-335-8394 or send a message at Rosary Altar Society The next Rosary Altar Society meeting will take place on Wednesday, February 9th with the Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM in the Church followed by Mass at 7:30 PM. Light refreshments will be served in the back of the Church. We look forward to wel-coming the past and new members. Holy Name Society The next corporate communion mass will be Sunday, February 13th at 11:00 am. The next meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 15th at 7:30 the church. All men 18 years of age and older are invited. Saint Snippets: St. Blaise, Patron Saint of Sufferers of Throat Diseases - Feast Day (February 3rd) A Prayer to Saint Blaise O Glorious Saint Blaise, who by thy martyrdom has left to the Church a pre-cious witness to the faith, obtain for us the grace to preserve within ourselves this divine gift, and to defend, without human respect, both by word and example, the truth of that same faith, which is so wickedly attacked and slandered in these our times.

9 You who miraculously cured a little child when it was at the point of death by reason of an affliction of the throat, grant us your powerful protection in like misfortunes; and, above all, obtain for us the grace of repentance, together with a faithful observance of our Church, and avoidance from offending Almighty God. Amen. Mass of Healing A special Mass of healing with be celebrated on Thursday, February 3rd at 7:00 pm which will include the blessing of throats for the Feast of St. Blas . Padre Pio Prayer Group The Padre Pio Mass and prayer meeting will be Thursday, February 10th at 6:00 PM. Everyone is invited to attend. He can help you send pictures, texts use Social Media & Internet; Shop Online; download apps and much more.
