1 MATERIAL SAFETY data SHEET SECTION 1- CHEMICAL PRODUCT AND COMPANY IDENTIFICATION Product Name: Wanol R 2470M Product Use: Polyol. Company: Guangdong Wanhua Rongwei Polyurethane CO., Ltd. ADD No. 508 Mingcheng Industrial Zone,Gaoming District,Foshan,Guangdong Province, TEL: (0086)-757-88938371 FAX: (0086)-757-88938370 Post Code: 528518 SECTION 2 COMPOSITION / INFORMATION ON INGREDIENTS Chemical Name CAS number Amount (w/w %) Amine polyol reaction product of the Mannich condensation involving nonylphenol, formaldehyde, diethanolamine, and alkylene oxides. 052019-35-9 > 99 SECTION 3 - HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION Emergency Overview May cause irritation to the eyes, skins and respiratory system.
Eyes This product may cause irritation to the eyes. Skin Skin contact with this product may cause mild skin irritation. Inhalation Inhalation of vapors or mists of the product may be irritating to the respiratory system. Ingestion Ingestion of large amounts may produce gastrointestinal disturbances including irritation, nausea, and diarrhea. 2 SECTION 4- FIRST AID MEASURES General In case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately (show the label where possible). Inhalation If symptoms are experienced, remove source of contaminated or move victim to the fresh air.
If symptoms persist, get medical attention. If affected person is not breathing, apply artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Seek medical attention. Skin Contact Remove contaminated clothing and shoes while washing. Wash affected areas thoroughly with soap and water. If irritation develops and persists, obtain medical advice. Contaminated clothing should be thoroughly cleaned before reuse. Eye Contact Immediately flush eyes with running water for a minimum of 15 minutes.
Hold eyelids open during flushing. If irritation persists, repeat flushing. Obtain medical attention immediately. Ingestion If swallowed, seek medical attention. Do not induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. Provided the patient is conscious, wash out mouth with water then give 1 or 2 glasses of water to drink. Refer person to medical personnel for immediate attention. Note An eye wash fountain, a general washing facility should be available to the work area.
NOTE TO PHYSICIAN No specific antidote. Supportive care. Treatment based on judgment of the physician in response to reactions of the patient. SECTION 5 - FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES Flammable Properties Flash point: >160 deg. C Fire And Explosion Hazards 3 Incomplete combustion may lead to the buildup of toxic pyrolysis products. Complete combustion will result in the formation of: carbon oxides, water and nitrogen oxides, ammonia. Extinguishing Media Use carbon dioxide, dry chemical, foam, water fog or fine spray. Alcohol resistant foams (ATC type) are preferred if available.
General purpose synthetic foams(including AFFF) or protein foams may function, but much less effective. Do not use direct water stream which can spread fire. Fire Fighting Instructions Keep people away. Isolate fire area and deny unnecessary entry. Stay upwind. Keep out of low areas where toxic gas (fume) can accumulate. Water is not recommended but may be applied in very large quantities as a fine spray when other extinguishing agents are not available. Contain fire water run-off if possible. Do not use direct water stream. May spread fire. Fight fire from protected location or safe distance. Consider use of unmanned hose holder or monitor nozzles. Use water spray to cool fire exposed containers and fire affected zone until fire is out.
Immediately withdraw all personnel from area in case of rising sound from venting SAFETY devices or discoloration of the containers. Move containers from fire area if this is possible without hazard. Fire Fighting Protective Equipment Wear positive-pressure self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and protective fire fighting clothing (includes fire fighting helmet, coat, pants, boots, and gloves). If protective equipment is not available or not used, fight fire from a protected location or safe distance. SECTION 6 - ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES Spills, Leaks, or Releases Isolated spill or leak area immediately.
Keep unauthorized personnel away. Stay upwind. Keep out of low areas. Ventilate closed spaces before entering. Do not touch or walk through spilled MATERIAL . Stop leak if you can do it without risk. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment during cleanup. Small spills: Absorb or cover with dry earth, sand or other non-combustible MATERIAL and transfer to containers. Larger spills should be collected for disposal. 4 Attention: avoid the leak contaminating the waterways, drains, sewers, or ground. SECTION 7 - HANDLING AND STORAGE Handling Since polyol are handled together with diisocyanates, proper distinction between these two kinds of products is essential in order to avoid undesired mixing resulting in uncontrolled polymerization.
CAUTION: Contents under pressure. Avoid open flames. Do not puncture or incinerate. Storage: keep container closed. Keep stocks of decontaminant (See Section 6) readily available. Ideal storage temperature is 0-35 C. Shelf life: 1 year SECTION 8 - EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION Engineering control Use only with adequate ventilation.
Local exhaust ventilation may be necessary for some operations. Eye/Face Protection Use chemical goggles and masks. If vapor exposure causes eye discomfort, use a full-face respirator. Eye wash fountain should be located in immediate work area. Skin Protection Wear protective clothing and rubber gloves impervious to this work and before eating, drinking or smoking wash and clean yourself carefully with soap and water. Contaminated clothing should be washed and/or dry cleaned before re-use. Respiratory Protection For most conditions, no respiratory protection is needed; however, if handling at elevated temperature without sufficient ventilation or in presence of aerosols, use an approved air-purifying respirator.
