2 B) To develop patterns of teaching in undergraduate &postgraduate level and in super specialities so as to set a high standard of medical education. c) To provide for training in paramedical and allied fields, particularly in relation to super- specialities. d) To function as a referral hospital. e) To provide for post graduate teaching and conduct of research in the relevant disciplines of modern medicine and other allied sciences, including inter-disciplinary fields of physical and biological sciences. The institution, spread in a acre campus, has 38 super/broad speciality medical departments, three constituent colleges and is a centre of excellence providing medical care, education and research activities of a high standard in the field of medical and other allied sciences. SVIMS also provides training in para- medical and allied fields. The Institution is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 12 (B) of the UGC act, 1956, and medical Council of India (MCI) has granted permission and later recognition to start super-speciality courses in Cardiology, Neurology, Nephrology, Endocrinology, medical Oncology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Urology, Surgical Oncology, Surgical Gastroenterology and PG medical (MD) courses in Anaesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, Microbiology, Nuclear Medicine, Biochemistry, Pathology, Medicine, Immuno Haematology & Blood Transfusion, Radio Diagnosis and Radiotherapy.

4 1) SVIMS, Sri Padmavathi medical College for Women (SPMC-W) : The college was permitted by Govt. of India for admitting MBBS students with 150 annual intake 2014-15 academic year. For the year 2018-19, Govt. of India permitted for admitting 5th batch of 150 students. This college is meant exclusively for women. 2) College of nursing: The college of nursing was established in the year 1996, with the objective of providing graduate, postgraduate teaching and for conduct of research in the relevant disciplines of modern nursing. Courses offered are (nursing), (nursing) and The college has excellent infrastructure with well equipped laboratories, advanced teaching and learning facilities. 3) College of physiotherapy: The College of physiotherapy was established in the year 1998. The college offers graduate and postgraduate courses in physiotherapy, in-patient and outpatient services and special services through obesity pain, paediatric clinics, advanced physiotherapy, ergonomics & life style modification.

ADMISSION CRITIRIA: MBBS COURSE The other interdisciplinary departments are; 1) Biotechnology: The department of Biotechnology established in 2003, is offering Biotechnology with intake of 15 students per annum and programmes. The successful students are absorbed in industrial organizations, who are leaders in production of drugs, vaccines, etc. They have also been in various national level examinations like CSIR, GATE, ICMR, BCIL (biotechnology consortium India Ltd., New Delhi). 2) Bioinformatics: The Department of Bioinformatics established in 2003, is offering Bioinformatics with intake of 15 students per annum and programmes. The students are selected in various National level examinations like GATE, ICMR, Bioinformatics Industrial Training Programme, New Delhi (BIITP).

6 The successful students are absorbed in industrial organizations, and software companies. The DBT, ministry of science and technology, Govt. of India has sanctioned the Bioinformatics centre to support teaching and research work. The Bioinformatics infrastructure facility was housed in the Department of Bioinformatics. The Bioinformatics centre offers two studentships for final semester Bioinformatics students and two traineeships for Bioinformatics students every year. The students selected under this scheme are awarded a stipend of Rs 8,000/- per month for a period of six months. (1) Total seats permitted : 150 i. All India Quota : 15% 22 seats ii. NRI Category : 15% 23 seats iii. Merit Category : 105 seats (2) The women candidates are only eligible. (3) Educational Qualifications: The candidates should have passed two years Intermediate (10+2 pattern) or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology) / Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained not less than 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology) / Bio-technology.

7 In respect of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes and the Backward Classes the marks obtained shall be a minimum of 40% taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology)/ Bio-technology. The OC-PH candidates shall have obtained not less than 45% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry Biology (Botany, Zoology) / Bio-technology. a. Candidates should have qualified in NEET (UG) - 2018 conducted by CBSE Govt. of India b. Age: should have completed the minimum age of 17 years by 31st December, 2018. c. Admission Process: Equivalence certificate from the Board of Intermediate Education of Andhra Pradesh / Competent authority from Govt.

8 Of India to the effect that the qualification possessed is equivalent to or higher than Intermediate examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education of Andhra Pradesh. It applies to NRI candidates also. 1. All India Quota : 15% 22 seats are to be filled by the medical Counseling committee (MCC), DGHS, Govt. of India. Copy of Aadhar Card 11. An Anti-ragging affidavit duly signed by self and parent / guardian.
