4 As per annexure - D. PREAMBLE. The Government of Maharashtra has authorized the Director of Medical Education & Research to conduct Medical Education Department Staff Selection - Common Written Test - 2012 ( MEDSS - CWT 2012 ) to fill up vacant class-III posts from technical cadre under this Directorate. As per Government Letter /. / CR-32 / vai seva - 4, dated , the Government of Maharashtra has permitted this Directorate to fill the backlog of reserved category posts through MEDSS -CWT 2012 . Subsequently the Government of Maharashtra has also permitted to conduct the MEDSS - CWT 2012 for the posts of Open Category. At present there are restrictions on the filling of vacant posts for class - III (Technical) cadre from Open Category. However, waiting list of open category candidates will be prepared through this examination. If the restrictions are removed then the said waiting list will be operated to fill the posts from Open Category. If the restrictions are continued then the waiting list of the Open Category candidates will automatically be cancelled.

PROCEDURE FOR RECRUITMENT TO TECHNICAL & PARA-MEDICAL POSTS (CLASS-III). 1. INTRODUCTION: The Government of Maharashtra has decided to recruit competent and efficient candidates with the help of competitive written examination. This examination for the selection to fill vacant Class III Technical cadre posts in various Government Institutions detailed in Annexure A' in this Brochure under the jurisdiction of DMER shall be conducted by the Competent Authority appointed by Government of Maharashtra. Separate State Merit List shall be prepared for each type of post. The selection process shall be based on this State Merit List and shall be carried out at a later date by the Competent Authority.

7 This procedure shall be governed by the rules, regulations and directions specified by the Govt. of Maharashtra from time to time. Hon'ble High Court in , order dated has directed the State Govt. as follows:- " Until the backlog of reserved posts for handicapped persons as on 30th June 2006 is filled up by the State Govt. in Toto, the State Govt. and its 27 departments are restrained from the recruitment on any post on which a disabled/handicapped person may be appointed ". As per above order, backlog of the Physically Handicapped posts shall be filled first the on basis of State Merit List of MEDSS -CWT 2012 . examination, The Director of Medical Education & Research, Mumbai is permitted to conduct MEDSS -CWT 2012 examination by Government of Maharashtra vide letter vai seva-4, dated and letter No. DMER - 0212 / CR-32 / vai seva-4, dated All the candidates and parents from open category should read carefully the preamble before applying for these posts.

8 2. DEFINITIONS. "Application Form" means prescribed form filled up by the candidate for appearing for MEDSS -CWT 2012 . (Annexure -I). Appeal Committee means the Committee setup as per rule under the chairmanship of the Competent Authority. It shall deal with the representations submitted by the candidates/parents relating to grievances of the candidates with regard to MEDSS -CWT 2012 examination and the selection process Competent Authority means the Authority appointed by Govt. of Maharashtra to conduct MEDSS -CWT 2012 , to declare the results and to carry out further selection process. The Competent Authority will supervise and control all activates related to the examination and act as a chairperson of the Appeal Committee for representations submitted by the candidates. The Competent Authority will issue necessary executive instructions for implementation and provide relevant information to be published or communicated. Divisional Authority means the Deans/Officer(s) of specified Govt.

9 Medical Colleges who will be responsible to carryout the directions and instructions of the Competent Authority. (Annexure -B). Grievance Redressal Committee: A Grievance Redressal Committee means committee appointed as per the rule to deal with the representations submitted by the candidate related to the conduct of examination MEDSS -CWT Medical Education Department Staff Selection Common Written Test. Notified College means the specified colleges/institutions responsible for distribution of information brochures and application forms for MEDSS -CWT. 2012 examination, receipt of the application forms from the candidates, collection & distribution of admit cards and mark sheets of MEDSS -CWT. 2012 examination (Annexure B'). "Nomadic Tribes (NT) means Nomadic Tribes as specified and laid down by the Government of Maharashtra. Other Backward Class (OBC) means Other Backward Class as specified and laid down by the Government of Maharashtra. Physically Handicapped (PH) means physically handicapped candidates as per the directions of Govt.

10 Of Maharashtra as per MES- 1202/(81)MES-1, Mantralaya, Mumbai-32 dated 19/08/2005 as may be amended from time to time. Qualifying examination means examination on the result of which a candidate becomes eligible to appear at MEDSS -CWT 2012 selection examination as per Recruitment Rules given in Annexure A'. Scheduled Castes (SC) means Scheduled Castes as specified and laid down by the Government of India and as recognized in the State of Maharashtra. Scheduled Tribes (ST) means Scheduled Tribes as specified and laid down by the Government of India and as recognized in the State of Maharashtra. Special Backward Class (SBC) means Special Backward Class as specified and laid down by the Government of Maharashtra. Vimukta Jati (VJ) means Vimukta Jati as specified and laid down by the Government of Maharashtra. 3. SCHEME OF EXAMINATION. Date of Examination: The examination will be conducted on Sunday, 15/07/ 2012 . On this date the candidates who have filled up the application form and are eligible for the examination shall have to appear for the examination on their own cost.
