4 In this critical analysis of the existing English translations, we will reveal errors that have distorted and obscured the meaning of the work. We will also explain some important points about Mein KAMPF that have confused readers in the past and give you some background information that will enhance the political and historical meaning of Mein a quick look at the Appendix now. It is filled with a strong sense of heroism and a desire to support the underdog and, most of all, it is a fight for survival, at least in hitler s view. hitler was literally speaking to the common man in his words and he was motivating them, just as in his speeches. He makes foreign policy fascinating through his interpretation and it is interesting to read or listen to hitler s descriptions of what was really happening, at least from his point of view. To say the French sent troops into the Ruhr Area, is boring and dry, but when hitler discusses what was done, the government incompetence he saw and how it affected the people, and then he calls for the people to rise up and heroically take the sword of vengeance in their hand, the entire event comes to life. You can see the factory smokestacks of the Ruhr as the French troops surround the buildings, you can see German Chancellor Cuno refusing to negotiate with the French, hitler then explains why Cuno s plan of passive resistance was destined to fail, which it did.

9 The frustration, then anger, it is all expressed with mastery by hitler who was not speaking only for himself, but his thoughts were already shared by much of Germany. It is a moving story about the desire to return to the people of a country their self-respect and KAMPF is an interesting phenomenon. No one would think anything about sitting in a public place and reading the Communist Manifesto, the Turner Diaries, or any of hundreds of other political or racially charged books, yet Mein KAMPF is something people hide and read in private. They hesitate to tell their friends they have read it, but it has remained a bestseller.
