1 Metis Nation of Alberta Region 1 Scholarship Alberta -Pacific Forest Industries Inc. values the importance of education and has partnered with the Metis Nation of Alberta Region 1 to make available this Scholarship to eligible Region 1 students. The purpose of the Alberta -Pacific / Metis Nation of Alberta Region 1 Scholarship is to encourage and assist students in Region 1 to seek opportunities and to realize their post-secondary educational goals. Consideration will be given to applicants who meet Scholarship criteria and accept the conditions outlined in this package. The Scholarship will be awarded based on a combination of academic achievement and community involvement.

2 Value: the successful applicant will receive a $1500 award to assist in their academic pursuit. Eligibility: Metis Nation of Alberta Region 1 students who have been fully accepted into; or are returning to full- time studies at an accredited post-secondary institution. Conditions: confirmation of Metis Nation of Alberta Membership and proof of Region 1 residency. Selection process: the selection committee will be made up of Alberta -Pacific and Region 1 representatives. Deadline: completed applications must be received by July 15. Full acceptance must be received by the application deadline to be considered.

3 All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application soon after the July 15 deadline. Scholarship promotion: upon receipt of the award, the award recipient agrees to provide Alberta -Pacific with a photo and a brief statement about how the Scholarship has impacted their educational pursuit. Publication rights must also be granted to Alberta -Pacific for its use.
