1 Metis Nation of Alberta Region 1 Scholarship Alberta -Pacific forest Industries Inc. values the importance of education and has partnered with the Metis Nation of Alberta Region 1 to make available this Scholarship to eligible Region 1 students. The purpose of the Alberta -Pacific / Metis Nation of Alberta Region 1 Scholarship is to encourage and assist students in Region 1 to seek opportunities and to realize their post-secondary educational goals. Consideration will be given to applicants who meet Scholarship criteria and accept the conditions outlined in this package.

2 The Scholarship will be awarded based on a combination of academic achievement and community involvement. Value: the successful applicant will receive a $1500 award to assist in their academic pursuit. Eligibility: Metis Nation of Alberta Region 1 students who have been fully accepted into; or are returning to full- time studies at an accredited post-secondary institution. Conditions: confirmation of Metis Nation of Alberta Membership and proof of Region 1 residency. Selection process: the selection committee will be made up of Alberta -Pacific and Region 1 representatives.

3 Deadline: completed applications must be received by July 15. Full acceptance must be received by the application deadline to be considered. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application soon after the July 15 deadline. Scholarship promotion: upon receipt of the award, the award recipient agrees to provide Alberta -Pacific with a photo and a brief statement about how the Scholarship has impacted their educational pursuit.
