2 The product does not controlthe important broadleaf weeds in maize, sweet corn and Concep II treated sorghum, butwhen mixed with Flowable Atrazine, control of many important annual weeds and grasses isobtained without the problem of carryover of herbicides affecting succeeding crops. Theproduct acts mainly through shoot (coleoptile) absorption. Its effectiveness depends on theoccurrence of rainfall or irrigation to move it down into the top 3 to 4 cm of soil, where it mustbe present at the time of weed germination. Resistance Warning GROUP K HERBICIDE 4 Farmers METOLACHLOR 720 Herbicide is a member of the amide group of herbicides withdiverse sites of action. For weed resistance management this is a Group K herbicide.
3 Some naturally occurring weed biotypes resistant to 4 Farmers METOLACHLOR 720 Herbicide and other amide herbicides may exist through normal genetic variability in anyweed population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the weed population ifthese herbicides are used repeatedly. These resistant weeds will not be controlled by4 Farmers METOLACHLOR 720 Herbicide or other amide herbicides. Since the occurrence of resistant weeds is difficult to detect prior to use, 4 Farmers Pty Ltdaccepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of 4 FarmersMETOLACHLOR 720 Herbicide to control the resistant weeds. Advice as to strategies and alternative treatments that can be used should be obtained fromyour local supplier, consultant, local Department of Agriculture, Primary IndustriesDepartment or a 4 Farmers representative.
