MINUTES AUTAUGA COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION July 28, 2014 The AUTAUGA COUNTY BOARD of EDUCATION met in a regular session on Monday, July 28, 2014. 1 MINUTES AUTAUGA COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION July 28, 2014 The AUTAUGA COUNTY BOARD of EDUCATION met in a regular session on Monday, July 28, 2014. The meeting was called to order at 5:06 by BOARD chairman Jeffrey Keith. Other BOARD members in attendance were Jim Manderson, and Ledronia Goodwin. The invocation was given by Mr. Agee and the Pledge of Allegiance followed. The BOARD chairman requested that item number one under new business of the agenda for the meeting be moved to item number eleven. Approval of the revised agenda was unanimously approved on a motion by Mr. Keith, seconded by Mr. Manderson. On a motion by Mr.

2 Manderson, seconded by Mr. Keith, the BOARD unanimously approved the MINUTES for the July 14, 2014 BOARD meeting. On the recommendation of the superintendent, the disposal items were unanimously approved as presented on a motion by Ms. Goodwin, seconded by Mr. Manderson. On the superintendent s recommendation, the only bid for the Child Nutrition Program Beverage Bid from Coca-Cola was approved on a motion by Mr. Keith, seconded by Mr. Manderson. BOARD member Mark Hindman joined the meeting in session at 5:16 On the recommendation of the superintendent, the lowest bid from Central Paper for item numbers 1 through 5 and the lowest bid from American Osment for item numbers 6 through 9 for the Child Nutrition Program Dish Machine and Related Items Bid were unanimously approved by the BOARD on a motion by Ms.

3 Goodwin, seconded by Mr. Keith. BOARD member Eleanor Ballow joined the meeting in session at 5:19 On the recommendation of the superintendent, the only bid for the Child Nutrition Program Frozen Slush Bid from Trident Beverage was approved on a motion by Ms. Goodwin, seconded by Mr. Hindman. The superintendent provided the BOARD with a summary of the paraprofessionals for the 2014-15 school year. The superintendent addressed a quote received from Copeland Fire & Security, Inc. for installation of security cameras at the Area Technology Center. A quote for fencing at Pine Level Elementary School was also addressed. On the superintendent s recommendation, the Alabama Risk Management for Schools (ARMS) payment of $10,000 to resolve the Glover vs.

4 BOARD of EDUCATION lawsuit was unanimously approved by the BOARD on a motion by Ms. Goodwin, seconded by Mr. Hindman. On the superintendent s recommendation, the employee action was unanimously approved by the BOARD on a motion by Ms. Ballow, seconded by Ms. Goodwin. On the recommendation of the superintendent, the following personnel action was unanimously approved on a motion by Mr. Hindman, seconded by Mr. Keith. Retirement Professional: 1.
