2 The following practices minimize the likelihood of CMOS IC damage: 1. Use a static-free work station. 2. Avoid PLASTIC, VINYL, and STYROFOAM in work area. 3. Discharge personal static before handling. Use a grounded antistatic wrist strap. 4. Minimize handling. Do NOT remove and replace IC s by hand. 5. Use grounded IC removal and insertion tools 6.
