The tecbrake application chart can be usedto identify the Engine Model and determine if the Engine isapproved for installation of an Engine IDENTIFICATION:Obtain the Engine s CPL number. Refer to the TecBrakeApplication Chart which lists all Cummins engines on whichthe T430A Engine brake may be SCREW SELECTION:The Engine CPL number determines which adjusting screwsare required for the installation.

2 It is important that the properadjusting screws be selected and installed. Use of the wrongscrews or an incorrect lash adjustment may cause improperbrake operation and Engine to the application chart to determine which adjustingscrew should be installed in the brake SCREWS INCLUDED IN KIT:The T430A Engine brake kit (Part No. 960008) is shippedwith adjusting screws (Part No. TB924922, color coded black ) already installed in the brake housings. Thisconfiguration is correct for the most common additional adjusting screws (Part No. TB924921, colorcoded beige ) are included in the Attaching Parts Group(Part Number TB940038). These adjusting screws may beinstalled in place of the black adjusting screws whenspecified by the application two adjusting screw part numbers included in the enginebrake kit cover all Engine FOOT SWITCH:A foot switch may be used in place of the clutch switch.
