1 ROACHE , Mary margaret (Coady).doc MRS. MARY ROACHE Mary Coady departed this life February 1, at her home in the eastern part of the county, after an illness of several weeks. The deceased was born at Keokuk, Iowa, April, 7th, 1856, when a little child she moved with her parents to Monroe County, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood. On November 7, 1887, she was united in marriage to Thomas S. Roche, coming to this county at that time they homesteaded the place on which they have since resided. To this union was born seven children, one who died in infancy. Those living are Mary Allen and margaret Allen of North of Page, Wm. and Lucille at home, Edward L. of north of Page, and Laura E., of Los Angeles, California, all of whom were at her side when she passed to the Great Beyond. Mrs. Roche was a kind and loving mother always ready and willing to lend a helping hand, never faltering in her duty and was faithful to the end.

2 To know her was to love her, she endured the hardships. of the early days and met them with a smile, much of the success of the country is due to the courage of those early pioneers and their perseverance. Besides her children she leaves to mourn her loss, six grandchildren, four brothers, and two sisters and other relatives and a host of friends who will miss the sunshine of the one we loved. A brother, James Cody of Albia, Iowa, and a sister, Mrs. Judge of Melrose, Iowa, were present during her last illness. The funeral was held at St. Patricks Church in O'Neill at ten o clock on Friday morning and internment was made in Calvery cemetery by the side of her husband who preceded her in death just three months ago.
