1 NAVIGATIONAL simulationsIn November 2012, Gold Coast City Council completed a NAVIGATIONAL SIMULATION exercise to see whether cruise ships could navigate through the Seaway to a potential cruise ship terminal within the Broadwater just north of Sea NAVIGATIONAL simulations were undertaken at the Smartship Australia facility in Brisbane, with the assistance of Meridian Maritime Services, Maritime Safety Queensland and Brisbane Marine Pilots. Equipped with modern bridge training techniques recognised as world-class, the Smartship Australia centre of excellence is supported by full mission high fidelity SIMULATION that can be applied to complex Marine three simulations were undertaken testing five ships of varying scale and capability (see below) entering and departing the Seaway and Broadwater in a range of operational situations.
