Prior to that, he had a 30-year career with the Department of Transportation s Federal Highway Administration. Sorel most recently served as chief operating officer of the Minnesota Trucking Association. A more inclusive biography can be found on the NDDOT web page. Phil Murdoff, NDDOT CONSTRUCTION Services Engineer Phil graduated from NDSU with a Civil Engineering degree in 1991.

3 He is a Registered Professional Engineer in North Dakota. He has worked for the Department for over 26 years. He is fan of the 2018 National Champion NDSU Bison Football and the 2018 Super Bowl Champion Minnesota Vikings. Ramona Bernard NDDOT Civil Rights Director Ramona has been with NDDOT since 2008 and became the Civil Rights Division Director in 2015. Ramona and her staff are responsible for developing and administering the Department s Civil Rights Programs including: Title VI, Title VII, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, DBE Supportive Services, On-The-Job-Training, Contract Compliance and Labor Compliance. Ramona has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management Information Technologies, with a minor in Criminal Justice.

4 Chad Beggs, NDDOT Minot District Team Leader Chad Beggs, PE is an Engineering Manager/Team Leader in the Minot District. He grew up in Williston, ND. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from NDSU in 1999 and began working for the NDDOT that spring in the CONSTRUCTION Pool. He was assigned to the Minot District and liked it so much that he transferred there in 2000. Chad oversees all CONSTRUCTION activities in the Minot District as well as District Design projects. He is married with two children. Chad enjoys hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. Ahmed Ahmed NDDOT Environmental and Transportation Services Ahmed is a Transportation Engineer III and works in the Technical Services section.

5 He has worked for the Department for 3 1/2 years. Prior to NDDOT , Ahmed worked in various divisions for MN Department of Transportation. He graduated from University of MN with a bachelor of civil engineering and is expecting to graduate this summer with a Master s Degree in CONSTRUCTION Management from NDSU. Bryce Wuori Northern Improvement Company Project Manager/Estimator, MPM Bryce Wuori has always had a passion for CONSTRUCTION . In pursuing this passion, he studied Civil Engineering and CONSTRUCTION Management at North Dakota State University. With a freshly educated mindset, Bryce began employment for Northern Improvement as a Project Manager and Technology Manager. Recently, Bryce furthered his passion by receiving a Masters in Project Management from the University of Mary.

6 Bryce has been implementing Management and Technology tools within Northern Improvement to increase efficiency and accuracy within project scopes. Bryce believes technology is an imperative key to success in the CONSTRUCTION industry and plans on developing these concepts throughout his professional career. Matt Gangness, NDDOT Environmental and Transportation Services Program Manager Matt has worked for the NDDOT for 15 years. He has worked in Design and ETS. He is currently the Program Manager in ETS. Matt enjoys long walks on the beach and a nice pair of slacks. He once parallel parked a train, mosquitos don't bite him out of respect and Cuba imports their cigars from him. Thomas Ullom USDOT Office of Inspector General Chicago, IL Thomas J.

7 Ullom currently serves as the Special Agent-in-Charge (SAC) of the Department of Transportation, Office of Inspector General, Chicago Regional Investigations. He has 25 years of federal law enforcement experience and has served with the Marshal s Service as a Deputy Marshal in the Chicago Field Office, as a Special Agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration in the Detroit Field Division, and as a Special Agent with the Department of Education, Office of Inspector General, Chicago Field Office. SAC Ullom is responsible for overseeing criminal and civil investigations related to DOT funded transportation programs in alignment with the Department s mission to ensure a safe and efficient transportation system.

8 Mark Kvas, Bartlett & West Project Engineer Mark has been in the road CONSTRUCTION industry for the past 19 years. He started his career as a laborer for a contractor on the Iron Range of Minnesota and progressed his way to an equipment operator, and finally a foreman. After he graduated from NDSU he worked for a geotechnical/testing company in Minnesota and North Dakota for 10 years. Currently he is employed by Bartlett & West as a CONSTRUCTION Project Manager and is the Project Engineer for the Minot Broadway Viaduct Project. Darin Schaeffer, Bartlett & West Senior Project Manager Darin graduated from NDSU with a Civil Engineering Degree in 1996 and began at Bartlett & West during his senior year.

9 He currently serves as a Senior Project Manager for their transportation group and has been involved in numerous transportation projects across the state during that time. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in North Dakota and is currently the Project Manager for the Minot Broadway Viaduct Project. Justin Ramsey, NDDOT Environmental and Transportation Services Team Leader Justin has been working for the Department since receiving his CONSTRUCTION Engineering degree from NDSU in 2003. He spent over 4 years in the CONSTRUCTION Pool, followed by 5 years in Tech Support in the Design Division. Since 2011 he s been the Team Leader in the Transportation Services Section of the ETS Division overseeing specifications, special provisions, value engineering, the Transportation Innovation Program, and various other unique tasks.

10 Matt Kurle, NDDOT Materials and Research Geotechnical Team Leader Matt is a 2006 Graduate of NDSU where he attained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. He began his career as an Engineer in the CONSTRUCTION Pool working on projects for the Williston and Devils Lake Districts. He started working in the Geotechnical Section in 2008 developing recommendations for roadway embankments, structure foundations, and landslide mitigation. Currently Matt is working with the Geotechnical Team to refine their work processes while integrating existing technologies, such as GIS, into their workflow. James Rath, NDDOT Design Division Program Manager James graduated from UND in 1993.
