True to form, we also tend to make a bit of a mess on the beach and around the Village . No problem, as there will be SOLV bags and plastic gloves available to you for gathering debris, as well as a designated drop off site for the refuse.

!You can pick up bags at my house 48735 Hawk Drive not far from Hawk Creek Caf . They will also be handed out at the Walkabout on the morning of the 4th. You can call me at 503-392-3003, as I would be happy to deliver! (Sorry, no Chinese food just the bags and gloves.) If, for any reason, you miss getting a SOLV bag or two, your own sturdy plastic garbage bags will work just fine. !Our beach and town clean up begins at 9am on July 5. (Kids the bottles and cans are worth money, so you might want to get out there early!) When the garbage has been collected you can take the bags to the Wayside, and leave them near the bathroom buildings. Tillamook County Parks and Recreation workers will pick them up later in the day. A hearty THANKS to all of you who pitch in to pitch it out! Save the Date: Neskowin Cottage Walk - Saturday, July 19, 11am to 4pm The Neskowin Cottage Walk will be held again this year.

Once again pies fires. Each year fires have been started by setting off fireworks in were a hit and at the end of the day our final sales tally wooded or grassy areas or in neighborhoods where the fallout was $415. This successful event could not happen lands on the roof of a building. And remember: possessing illegal without the support of our Neskowin community fireworks is not only dangerous, it can cost you if you are cited by which is greatly appreciated. Again, thank you. the Sheriff's Patrol. It can get expensive when you purchase the illegal fireworks, have them confiscated, and then pay a fine for possessing them. Illegal fireworks are like having dynamite in your hand as many of those fireworks are classified as an Welcome New Farmers Market Vendors By Nancy Nagel explosive device. !If you do use fireworks, carefully extinguish the debris in a metal !In addition to our returning array of market vendors, bucket full of water on an area clear of grass or combustibles.

!Stop by Saturdays between 9am and 1pm at the Neskowin Wayside parking lot to support our local vendors. And don't forget to admire the new plantings A Summer Wine at each end of the market: The Neskowin Farmers !Having judged wines professionally for more than 30 years, I am By Cameron Nagel Market board and the State Parks Department partnered in the new plantings of roses, kinnikinnick, always interested in discovering a new and interesting wine, yet salal, and red currants. Thanks to all the volunteers people are always asking me, What is your favorite wine? . Well, who tilled, planted, and watered this project! besides the one I am drinking when they ask me, I have to admit a fondness for Oregon Pinot Noir. When I had a wine cellar in Portland (okay, I still have some wine stored there) it was (okay, still is) 90%+ Oregon Pinot Noir. !Why Pinot Noir and not some other red wine?

Because it is so damn versatile. Yep, it can switch hit, walk, run, and hit it out of the park. Meaning: Pinot Noir comes in styles as light as a rose' all the way up to a big, ripe, and plummy fruit bomb'. But all Pinot Noir (okay, all well-made Pinot Noir) possess an elegance and a subtle intensity that is hard to describe in words except for, I'll have another glass please . Most importantly for me, Pinot Noir is rarely tannic but is instead smooth on the palate, has bright acidity and high-toned fruit flavors, and is generally perfect for drinking with most meals. Here again versatility makes for easy work, as I. will open a Pinot Noir to serve with chicken or salmon, as well as with lasagna or lamb chops. Pinot Noir flat out complements so Broadley Vineyards just released a succulent Pinot many foods it makes it ridiculously easy to find a successful Noir that fills the bill: 2013 Willamette Valley Pinot match!
