1 New Technical intern Training Program April, 2017. Immigration Bureau, Ministry of Justice Human Resources Development Bureau, Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare Structure of Technical intern Training Program Technical intern Training Program aims to contribute to developing countries by accepting people from these countries for a certain period of time (maximum 5 years) and transferring skills through OJT. (This Program was established in 1993.). Approximately 230,000 Technical intern trainees (as of the end of 2016) reside all over Japan, and labor related regulations are applied to them under employment relationship except lecture period just after the entry.

(as of the end of April 2016). Practical Training Eligibility: Trainee who passed theory & practical exam of evaluation exam (equivalent to National trade skill testing basic 2nd level).
