2 For expanded or detailed procedures, refer-ence should be made to those and responsibilities ofauthoritative personnel concerned with the handling ofexplosives at shore activities are delineated in Chapter 1 ofNAVAIR 00-80T-103 (Naval Air Training and OperatingProcedures Standardization (NATOPS) ConventionalWeapons Handling Procedures Manual (Ashore)) and involume II, Chapter Ammunition Load Plan/Load Planning is authorized andmaintained by authority of opnavinst of 20 April 1987 (NOTAL). 3 Each Navy andMarine Corps station which stocks and stores ammunitionto support its stated mission has an Load Plan/Load Plan-ning prepared by the Naval Sea Systems Command. Onlythe weapons officer is authorized to requisition and turn inammunition in support of Load Plan/Load Planning andother training allowances. The weapons officer is respon-sible for maintaining Load Plan/Load Planning allow-ances or letters of waiver from the applicable purpose ammunition other than thatauthorized by Load Plan/Load Planning may be stockedwith the approval of type weapons officer shall request modificationsto Load Plan/Load Planning consistent with stowagecapabilities,usagerates,andannual trainingammunition Ammunition Accountability and policy, procedures, and responsibilities formanagement of conventional ammunition as promulgatedin NAVORDCENINST (NOTAL)

Mechanized activities are all TIR stockpoints with the Ordnance Management System (OMS) andATR activities with the Fleet Optical Scanning Ammuni-tion Marking System (FOSAMS) which have approvedautomated inventory activities shall maintainammunition stock record cards. There are three formsavailable for ammunition stock recording.

5 An Ammuni-tion Master stock Record Card (NAVSUP 1296) and eithera Lot/Location Card (NAVSUP 1297) or a Serial/Locationsupplemental card (NAVSUP 1356) will be maintained forevery Naval Ammunition Logistics Code (NALC) carriedon board. lot/location or serial/location supplementalcards should be placed with the appropriate master stockrecord card. Another supplemental master stock recordcard by National Item Identification Number (NIIN) willbe used if a second NIIN is received. All entries should beposted promptly and in ball point pen. When transferringto a new stock record card, the existing stock record cardwill be retained for audit weapons officer shall maintain a Notice ofAmmunition Reclassification (NAR) file in accordancewith NAVSEA TW 024-AA-ORD-010 (NOTAL) andensure that all ammunition carried on the master stockrecords is properly coded and departments and tenant commands shallreturn unserviceable ammunition, and any other ammuni-tion not required or authorized, to the weapons officer forfurther disposition.
