NOTIFICATION Whereas, the draft of the following rules further to amend the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Rules, 1963 which the government of Karnataka proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 40 of Karnataka Shops & Commercial Establishments Act, 1961 ( Karnataka Act 8 of 1962) was published in NOTIFICATION 10 LET 2009, Dated: in Part-IV-A of the Karnataka Gazette Extraordinary, dated.

2 As required by Sub-section (4) of the said Act, inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected there by within 30 days from the date of its publication in the officials gazette. And whereas, the said Gazette was made available to the public on And whereas, no objections or suggestions have been received from the public. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 40 of Karnataka Shops & Commercial Establishments Act, 1961 ( Karnataka Act 8 of 1962), the government of Karnataka hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Rules, 1963, namely: RULES and Commencement: (1) These Rules may be called the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments (Amendment) Rules, 2010.

3 (2) They shall come into force at once. 2. Substitution of Schedule-I : In the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Rules, 1963 for Schedule-I the following shall be substituted namely:- Schedule-I (See Rule 3 & 3-A) Category of Establishment Fees (Rs.) 1 Shops & Commercial Establishment having NIL employees: 2 Shops & Commercial Establishment having 1 to 9 employees: 3 Shops & Commercial Establishment having 10 to 19 employees: 3, 4 Shops & Commercial Establishment having 20 to 49 employees: 8, 5 Shops & Commercial Establishment having 50 to 99 employees: 15, 6 Shops & Commercial Establishment having 100 to 250 employees: 30, 7 Shops & Commercial Establishment having 251 to 500 employees: 35, 8 Shops & Commercial Establishment having 501 to 1,000 employees: 45, 9 Shops & Commercial Establishment having above 1,000 employees.
