Hancock Mayor3 NPs: Moving Mountains IN HEALTH CAREIt is my great pleasure to invite you to join your colleagues in Denver, June 26 July 1 for the AANP 2018 National Conference. We know you have come to expect great things from AANP and this conference will not 2018 theme, NPs Moving Mountains in Health Care, is integrated throughout the conference schedule. Our opening general session keynote speaker, Rear Admiral Susan Orsega, Assistant Surgeon General and Chief Nurse Officer with the U. S. Public Health Service, brings her perspective on how NPs contribute to the culture of practice in the changing health care landscape. Rear Admiral Orsega has been instrumental in Moving Mountains in health care through her pioneering roles in global health diplomacy, her unique clinical insights and advocacy experiences in government, education and public 2018 Conference closing keynote speaker is Kevin Smith, DNP, FNP, FAANP.

3 Dr. Smith is chief clinical officer at Zipnosis, a virtual care software and technology company. From helping to develop QuickMedx (which became MinuteClinic) and serving in leadership roles contributing to EHR design, Dr. Smith has been Moving Mountains in health care for years - transforming patients from passive to savvy health care consumers. In his current role Dr. Smith continues to impact health care by providing strategic leadership in the development and implementation of evidence-based clinical guidelines for virtual care services and clinical informatics. A few of the changes for this year s schedule include: Earn up to 40 contact hours of CE (includes all sessions Tuesday through Sunday) More groups of concurrent sessions each day; Concurrent sessions are 60 minutes rather than 75 minutes; A Tuesday night Welcome to the AANP 2018 Conference reception (in previous years this was a first time attendee reception but will be a welcome reception for all this year) Exhibit Hall Grand Opening is Thursday afternoon rather than morning Opening General Session is scheduled for Wednesday from 10:00 10:45am with the keynote address presented by Rear Admiral Susan Orsega Annual Membership Meeting immediately follows Opening General Session and is scheduled for 10:45 11:30am on WednesdayIf you are not a current member of AANP, consider joining to take advantage of the many programs and services that we offer our members year round.

8 These limited CE symposia and non-CE product theaters are funded entirely by the supporting/sponsoring company, allowing AANP to offer some conference registrants complimentary access to a limited number of CE and non-CE educational presentations. Due to their educational focus and guideline requirements, attendance is restricted to only conference registrants. To expedite processing attendees into these events, registration/admission will occur at the entrance of each scheduled event, on a first-come first-served basis. There will be no pre-registration. When available, IS event description notices will be posted on the National Conference page at , on signage located throughout the conference area, in the mobile app, and in the conference guideCONTINUING EDUCATION/ PHARMACOLOGY CONTACT HOURSThe program is pending approval for CE and pharmacology credit by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners Accreditation. Up to 40 contact hours of CE will be offered (includes all sessions Tuesday-Sunday).

9 Most sessions will have the estimated number of contact hours listed. Approved pharmacology credit will be posted on the National Conference page at when available. All NP state regulatory agencies and certifying bodies recognize and accept AANP CE HANDOUTS The presentation handout link will be emailed to all conference registrants no later than early June 2018. Registrants are encouraged to print the materials or store them on an electronic device prior to attending sessions. NAME BADGESR egistered Attendees: Registered attendees must wear their official conference name badge at all times to access conference events. There will a $25 fee to reprint a lost of Registered Attendees: NEW in 2018 - Guest badges may be purchased for $50 each for persons age 16 and older. This guest badge allows entrance into the Exhibit Hall only. CHILDRENC hildren (including infants) under the age of 16 are not allowed in conference sessions or the Exhibit Hall due to safety concerns, audio recording and maintaining an appropriate learning ATTIREA ttire is business casual.

10 The Colorado Convention Center (CCC) strives to keep rooms at a comfortable temperature, but layered clothing is strongly suggested. Comfortable shoes are highly recommended. STANDING & SITTING IN CLASSROOMSS itting in chairs is required in classrooms for the majority of presentations due to Fire Marshall regulations. Sitting on floors is not permitted. Standing is very limited and not allowed unless there is a hands-on or networking portion of the session, or you have a medical or health condition. Please kindly inform the classroom assistant(s) if you have a medical or health condition and need to stand during part of a MAJEUREIn the event AANP should find it necessary to cancel or postpone the AANP 2018 National Conference for any reason, including, but not limited to, low registration, strikes, acts of nature, war, terrorist acts or other circumstances beyond AANP s control, AANP s liability shall be limited to refund of registration fees paid to MEMBERS/REGISTRATION CATEGORIESIf you are not an AANP member, we encourage you to join in order to take advantage of a great member conference rate.
