2 ?Special Number Blocks refer to number blocks in a special or easily recognisable pattern which is attractive, or is likely to be attractive, to a customer (or customers). These Special Number Blocks spread across number levels from 2X to 9X . Prior to 1 July 2017, special number blocks are generally with 3-digit prefixes in the patterns of AAA ( 222), ABA ( 353), and ABC ( 678), while effective from 1 July 2017, special number blocks will generally be with 4-digit prefixes in the patterns of AAAA ( 2222), ABAB ( 3535), and ABCD ( 6789). 2X 9X 2017 7 1 AAA 222 ABA 353 ABC 678 2017 7 1 AAAA 2222 ABAB 3535 ABCD 6789 (3)Where can I find the principles and the required application information for Number Allocation/Assignment? / ?

(cat. 1, cat. 2, cat. 3) In short, it is a means to indicate if a short code is Universally Accessible and/or Universally Allocated. Applicable to short codes only. The original definition of Short Code Categories can be found in Appendix 2 of the CoP (see answer to question#3 above), and copied below for easy reference. 1 2 / CoP #3 App 2 Category 1 Codes which are universally accessible by customers and universally allocated to all operators 99X for emergency services;Category 2 Codes which are universally accessible by customers and allocated to a single operator 10X , 12X , 15XX , 16XX , 17X and 20X codes; andCategory 3 Codes which in general will not be passed across networks and are universally allocated to all operators 108X for the directory enquiry services, 109 for the fault reporting services and 1850X for time and temperature services.
4 However, operators are permitted to pass these codes across networks under bilateral or multilateral commercial arrangements.(5)What is the meaning of "Reserved", "Spare" and "Spare - open for application"?" " " " " / " "Reserved" means the number resources concerned are currently held in reserve pending the way forward to be made on their applications ( number migration/digit-upgrade, special number arrangement);"Spare" means the applications of the number resources concerned have already been determined and these number resources are made available for future allocation/assignment; and"Spare - open for application" means the number resources concerned are currently available for application by licensees for allocation/assignment" " " " / " / " Office of the Communications Authority3 / 74 FAQ(6)Why are some numbers in 7(4-9)X levels allocated to designated paging operators while some numbers in the abovementioned number levels are reserved for migration/digit-upgrade purposes?
5 7 4-9 X In accordance with the CA Statement dated 24 June 2016 on "More Efficient Utilisation of the 8-digit Numbering Plan", all the existing numbers in the 7X levels for provision of paging services will be relocated to certain specific number blocks in "7(1-3)X" levels by 1 July 2021. Subsequently, all number blocks in the 7(4-9)X levels (including those being vacated as a result of the relocation of the existing paging numbers in the "7(4-9)X" levels) will be reserved for the future migration to a longer digit numbering plan. 7X 7(1-3)X 7 4-9 X ( 7 4-9 X ) (7)As regards the answer to (6) above, what are the specific number blocks to which all the existing numbers in the 7X levels for provision of paging services will be relocated by 1 July 2021?
