1 ardex CPOutdoor Concrete PatchDESCRIPTIONARDEX CP is a trowel-grade cementitious topping for filling andrepairing small areas of Outdoor and indoor Concrete above, on orbelow grade. ardex CP is easy to apply, hardens quickly, isfreeze-thaw resistant, and produces a surface finish that is suitablefor foot and rubber tire ardex CP with water only to a creamy, trowel-gradeconsistency for filling birdbaths and other low areas, as well asfor making ramps over existing Concrete surfaces includingsidewalks, patios, walkways, driveways, garage floors, pool decksand most vertical Concrete surfaces. ardex CP is engineeredwith Portland cement and select high-performance polymers. Itreadily bonds to Concrete surfaces, and can be applied by trowelor screed. Once applied and allowed to properly dry, ARDEXCD Concrete Dressing can be installed over the patched area aswell as the adjacent Concrete to create a uniform ardex CP for filling or re-sloping existing Concrete , as wellas to fill in small surface defects such as spalls, gouges, andcracks.

2 ardex CP can also be used to re-form Concrete stepsand curbs, as well as to resurface vertical Concrete CP is recommended for light residential and commercialuse only. ardex CP is not intended for industrial uses such asloading docks, heavy manufacturing, or areas with heavy PREPARATIONAll existing Concrete surfaces must be structurally sound, solid andcompletely clean to include the removal of sealers, curingcompounds, patching compounds, dust, dirt, oil, or any othercontaminant which may act as a bond breaker. Mechanicallyabrade the Concrete to achieve a fractured aggregate surface and tocreate a minimum of 1/16 profile by scarifying or similar methodresulting in a sound and roughened Concrete surface. Saw-cut1/4 deep or more to create depth boundaries for each Patch . Donot use sweeping compounds, solvents, or acid etching as a meansof surface preparation. Prior to installing the ardex CP, thesubstrate must be completely dry and must be between 50 and85 F.

3 CRACK REPAIRAll moving joints such as expansion joints must be carried upthrough the ardex CP. Moving cracks should be repaired usingtraditional Concrete repair techniques and materials prior toinstalling ardex CP. Saw cuts, control joints and non-movingcracks should be V d out and filled with ardex EP 2000 priorto repairing the rest of the CP is intended for use to fill and repair existing concretebut is not intended for permanent crack repair. Existing cracks inthe Concrete can telegraph up through the repair. Althoughrepairing cracks in the substrate is always recommended prior toinstalling ardex CP, we cannot warrant that cracks won TOOLSM ixing bucket, margin trowel, wood or magnesium float, and asteel trowel for finishing. For best mixing results, we recommendthe use of a mechanical mixing paddle and a 1/2 heavy-duty : The recommended mixing ratio is 5 quarts ofwater for each 40 lb.

Make sure that the Concrete is completely ardex CP using standard Concrete practices. Place the scratch coat of the mortar using a steel trowel first. Then, usinga wood or magnesium float, place the ardex CP in the area to berepaired. If necessary, use a straightedge to screed the surface tomatch the existing elevation. After the mortar takes an initial set(approximately 30 45 minutes at 70 F), use a steel trowel tofinish the ardex OF INSTALLATION ardex CP is to be installed at a minimum depth up to 1/2 neat,and up to 1 when mixed with properly sized (1/8 - 1/4 ) peagravel.

5 COLORARDEX CP is formulated from Portland cement and is a lightgray color when dry. As an alternative, ARDEXC oncrete Guard Gray can be used to seal the repair andadjacent Concrete with a uniform color. TRAFFICARDEX CP can receivelight foot traffic after just2 hours, can be smoothedwith ardex CD after 4hours, and be sealed withARDEX Concrete Guardafter 24 hours.
