These units perform threedistinct functions:1. DC to AC power Automatic transfer switching betweeninverter power and incoming AC Automatic 3-Stage Battery charging plusmanual battery equalizing. The inverters provide regulated 120 Volt ACpower and crystal controlled frequency from adeep cycle battery bank in specified watts:Freedom 10 .. 1000 wattsFreedom 15 .. 1500 wattsFreedom 20 .. 2000 wattsFreedom 25 .. 2500 wattsThe output is a modified sine wave andis compatible with most appliances, tools andother 120 VAC equipment. An idle circuitreduces battery power consumption when theloads are removed from the inverter .

6 There isa low battery cutout circuit and momentarysurge power of more than twice the inverterrating is available for starting electric efficiency insures the longest possiblebattery life between recharges. The internal transfer switch allows theFreedom inverter /Charger to be connected toan external AC source and transfer thesource power through to the loads. Whendisconnected, the transfer switch allowsautomatic switching back to the Freedom inverter /Charger operatesas a self-contained backup power system, justadd batteries. Freedom battery chargers are electronicallycontrolled and rated:They are designed to rapidly and opti-mally recharge either wet** or gel** celldeep-cycle batteries. Battery charging isaccomplished in 3 automatic stages: BulkCharge, Acceptance Charge and FloatCharge.

7 Using a Freedom Remote ControlPanel or Link Instrumentation, a manually-engaged Equalizing Charge cycle is , automatic operation is madepossible by the microprocessor in theFreedom inverter /Charger. Other protection includes a low andhigh battery cutoff and automatic shutdown ifover temperature occurs. The fault conditionmust be eliminated before reset will : remove overload, rechargebatteries or allow to cool.

8 Reset by cycling thepower switch on the Freedom Remote ControlPanel, Link Instrument or the Freedom unitone time--OFF/ ON.**Adustable with optional remote (FreedomRemote Panel or Link Instrumentation)Part No. 2/98 Circuit Breaker ProtectionThe Freedom inverter /Charger is circuitbreaker protected. The INV/CHG breaker onthe front of the unit protects against sustainedinverter/charger over current YOU SHOULD KNOWthe idle circuit sensitivity to be adjusted. Theunit will not put out 120 Volts when in idle. Tobring the unit out of the idle condition, applya and High Battery ProtectionWhen the battery voltage drops to 10 Volts, the Freedom inverter /Charger will auto-matically shut off. Recharge the batteries Volts (12 V model). For 24 Volt models,recharge batteries to Volts.

9 For 32 Voltmodels, recharge batteries to units will automatically reset whenshore power is disconnected or resetmanually by cycling the power switch OFF/ONShut down also occurs for a high batterycondition at Volts. If only one leg is usedto supply both inputs, set Power 10 Freedom 15 Freedom 20 Freedom 25 Circuit Breaker12 Amp20 Amp25 Amp30 AmpThe 30 Amp INPUT circuit breaker on theFreedom unit protects the incoming AC incoming AC circuit provides power to thebattery charger and transfers power to theloads connected to the inverter AC breakers are reset by pushing the buttonback : Freedom 25 only. There are 3circuit breakers on the Freedom 25. TheOUTPUT 30 Amp circuit breaker on the frontof the unit protects against sustained inverteroverloads. The TRANSFER 30 Amp circuitbreaker on the unit protects the incoming ACleg which is transferred through to the CHARGER 30 Amp circuit breakerprotects the incoming AC leg which feeds thebattery Controlled CoolingFreedom inverter /Chargers are equippedwith a thermostat controlled fan that cools theunit so it can operate continually at its Idle CircuitThis automatic energy saving featurereduces battery power consumption when noload is present.
