The B920 Two-line Alphanumeric Keypad (SDI2)features a bright two line display and 8 function keys. Both keypad models have user-adjustable volume anddisplay brightness, and a [HELP] key that opens on-display instructions. 5 The term point refers to a detection device, or group ofdevices connected to your security system . Points showindividually at the keypad with name. The point namecan describe a single door, motion sensor, smokedetector, or an area such as Upstairs or Garage. Thereare two basic types of points, controlled and pointsControlled points respond to alarm conditionsdepending upon whether the system is turned on(armed) or turned off (disarmed). Controlled points areprogrammed to respond instantly to alarm conditions orto provide a delay for you to reach the keypad and turnyour system off. There are two types of controlledpoints, part points and interior pointsPart points often include the exterior doors andwindows of the building (the perimeter of the building).When you turn your system Part On, you only turn on(arm) the part | PointsControl | 03 | 's ManualBosch Security Systems, pointsThese points often include interior forms of burglarydetection devices, such as motion sensors or interiordoors, for example.

6 When you turn your system All On,you turn on (arm) both part points and interior points24-hour points are always on (armed), even when yoursecurity system is turned off (disarmed). There are twotypes of 24-hour points, fire points and non- fire pointsFire points exclusively monitor fire detection are always on (armed) and cannot be turned off(disarmed). You can clearly distinguish fire points fromother non- fire points at the pointsNon- fire 24-hour points are always on (armed) and youcannot turn them off (disarm). Panic buttons, hold upbuttons, low temperature sensors, and water sensorsare examples of devices that are typically monitored bynon- fire 24-hour PanelsPoints | en15 Bosch Security Systems, 's | 03 | is an area?An area is a number of points that are grouped togetherso that you can control them together as one unit. Forexample, if a security system protected a building withthree sections an office, a laboratory, and a cafeteria the points in each of those sections could be groupedtogether as an area.

7 With each section being its ownarea in your security system , you can turn them on(arm) and off (disarm) individually, in groups (office andlaboratory, for example), or all | AreasControl | 03 | 's ManualBosch Security Systems, displays and tonesThe keypads emit several distinct tones and shows textto alert you to system events. Additional bells or sirensmay also be connected to your system . Bells or sirensmounted on the exterior of the premises alert neighborsto emergencies and provide an audible guide for policeand fire fighters. The keypads have five status LEDs that indicate thestatus of the system and some alarms. For moreinformation, refer to the status LED overview section foryour quiets for keystrokesPressing any key on the keypad lights the keys andquiets any warning tones. If you do not press anotherkey within 20 seconds, the keypad lights go out and thewarning tones the alarm toneThe audible alarm sounds for a specific period of timebefore it automatically shuts off.

8 To silence the sirenbefore the time expires, simply enter your personalpasscode and press [Enter] or [ENTER]. PanelsWarning displays and tones | en17 Bosch Security Systems, 's | 03 | delay tone and displayWhen you enter a system that is on (armed) through apoint programmed for entry delay, the keypad emits theentry delay tone as a reminder to turn off the securitysystem. Failure to turn off your security system before the entrydelay time expires might sound the burglary tone andcould result in an alarm report being sent to yoursecurity company. Your security company programmed the entry delaytimes for you: My entry delay time is: _____Exit delay tone and displayWhen you first turn on (arm) your system (using yourkeypad or keyfob), the keypad emits the exit delay tone,shows Exit Now!, and counts down the exit delay tone pulsing rate increases during the last 10 sec ofexit time. If you exit and re-enter before exit time expires, the exitdelay timer restarts the countdown.

Use the Settings menu toenable/disable the keypress entry (error tone)The invalid entry tone follows the keypress tone whenthe keypress completes a invalid entry. Sometimes an entry is one keypress. In the event yoursecurity system fails to communicate, the keypadsounds the trouble tone and the keypad shows acommunication failed message. Notify your securitycompany of the communications failure. If your telephone, internet, or cellular service isinterrupted, your security system cannot send reportsto the security company unless an alternate means oftransmitting the reports exists.

10 For telephone communication, your security companycan program your security system to automaticallydisconnect the telephones when sending reports to thesecurity company. Once the report finishes, the securitysystem returns the telephones to normal operation(check with your security company). Consult with your installer to determine if your securitysystem is configured with a communicator delay. Acommunicator delay aborts reports to the central620en | How the system reports eventsControl | 03 | 's ManualBosch Security Systems, if the control panel is disarmed within 30 to 45seconds after an burglary alarm is triggered. Note thatfire-type alarms are normally reported without a delay. Consult with your installer to determine if your securitysystem is configured with a cancel feature. If you silencea non- fire alarm before the alarm sound timer expires,your security systems sends a cancel report to yoursecurity company. Consult with your installer to determine if your securitysystem is configured with a swinger shutdown featurefor non- fire alarms and trouble events.
