1 Page 1 of 4. This document is intended to provide a summary of the status of legal fishing options in lakes and ponds as of March 1, 2022. The Fisheries Division acknowledges that there is currently some confusion about our inland fisheries regulations (developed by DEEP with ultimate approval required by the Legislative Regulations Review Committee of the Connecticut General Assembly and others) at this time since the current regulations and the recently passed Public Act 21-12 (which was a function of legislative action by the Connecticut General Assembly) are not yet in sync. The proposed regulations seek to remove the closed season for all species statewide, but until those are adopted, please see clarifications below.
