2 The theme for this year is Growth'. During lessons students in Years 7 to 9 will work on activities to look at all sorts of growth, including buildings, eco-friendly behaviours, animals and even how we can grow plants on Mars! Here are some fun facts about growth: FACT 1. Which animal grows the most? Communications Details of communications emailed to parents this week: Year 12 Progression and Careers Programme emailed to parents on 8 March Information Year 11 Maths, English, Science second mocks There will be a second mock period for Year 11 in their core subjects of English, Maths and Science. This will have minimum disruption for other subjects as they will be completed in lessons, in those subjects for the most part. Timetables will be released to students as soon as possible.

7 Teachers of Year 11 will be re-timetabled to support supervision in classrooms during this period. Exams will also take place in the main hall as well as classrooms. Exams Office @6thformhgs Parent Bulletin Week Beginning: Monday 14 March 2022 Week B. Science Masterclass GCSE Chemistry To support Year 11 students with their preparation for the upcoming Science Exams the Science Faculty will be offering a series of Revision Masterclasses. Expert teachers will guide students through revision on key topics and explain how to approach different types of questions. The third Science masterclass of the spring term will be as follows:- Chemistry - Thursday 17/03/22 -Between 16:15 and 17:15.

9 Students will receive an invitation to join the Masterclasses via Teams. Attendance is optional and the sessions will be recorded to enable students to re-watch at a later date, if required. The Masterclasses will be suitable for students studying either Combined or Triple Science and everyone is welcome. If you have any questions relating to the Science Masterclasses then please contact Students will all be sent a Teams invite in advance of the Masterclass. 10 Mr Sykes The information below has been shared with students within their Bulletin How to Approach Your Preparation for an Assessment Identify the topics you know you need to work on the most. This could come from a mock exam, a CAT, the contents page of a revision guide or exam specification. There's no point in working on topics your knowledge is strong on already. Produce a revision plan, showing when you have allocated time to different subjects. Share this with family, then you are more likely to stick to it stick it on the fridge where it can be seen! When you sit down to work, your brain needs to focus on nothing other than learning.
