3 Reaction to the Quebec Act Group a) They were displeased, because London granted too many concessions to the Catholic Canadiens and protected the Catholic Church. Moreover, the new constitution once again prevented them from settling on the rich land of the Ohio Valley. b) They were pleased with the official recognition of the Catholic religion. c) They were pleased with the western expansion of the boundaries, which served their interests in the fur trade. d) They were pleased with the recognition of the seigneurial system. e) They were very displeased, because they did not obtain a legislative assembly and were opposed to the reinstatement of French civil law.
