1 PAUL QUINN COLLEGE Office of Vice President of Academic Affairs Paul QUINN COLLEGE is seeking a creative, innovative, and energetic full-time, non-tenure track faculty member in Entrepreneurship and Management for the 2017-2018 academic year. This faculty member will not only teach courses in entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, small business management, and other related business courses, but will refine curriculum and develop new courses. They will work to incorporate the Urban Work COLLEGE model into the classroom experience, and will help identify and supervise experiential learning opportunities for Entrepreneurship and other business majors.

2 Successful candidates will demonstrate an unwavering dedication to student learning and success, teaching excellence, pedagogical innovation, and possess a sense of humor. They will have the ability to manage, motivate, and evaluate students who may possess a range of educational experiences, skills, competencies, and interests. PQC faculty are expected to demonstrate excellence in oral and written communication, and collaborate effectively with faculty and staff across campus. All faculty are expected to stay abreast of changes and advances in their academic disciplines, and to engage in professional development initiatives that focus on improving teaching and learning.

3 Examples of Specific Duties and Responsibilities Teach multiple courses per term in entrepreneurship, management, and other qualified disciplines Explore, develop, and use student-centered teaching pedagogies that increase student learning Develop and use assessment strategies that maximize and measure student learning outcomes; participate in periodic and ongoing assessment activities as requested Develop and apply instructional methods that engage students of varying learning styles and abilities Supervise and assist in identifying student experiential learning opportunities ( , internships) in entrepreneurship and business Develop and apply technology inside and outside the classroom Use a Learning Management System ( , CAMS, Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard) to post syllabi, assignments, and grades Submit midterm and final grades and attendance by scheduled deadlines.

4 Provide on-going feedback to Academic Affairs about student concerns Hold weekly office hours and respond to PQC students, faculty, and staff in a timely manner Participate in professional development workshop delivered by the Office of Academic Affairs Participate in curriculum and policy development and review, and serve on COLLEGE committees as requested Minimum Qualifications Earned doctoral degree in Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, Management, or closely related field with 18 hours of graduate work in entrepreneurship or closely related field from an accredited university/ COLLEGE (AACSB preferred); candidates with a completion date prior to January 1, 2018 will be considered.

5 COLLEGE -level teaching experience Demonstrated experience and comfort with using technology in the classroom Demonstrated experience with curriculum development and assessment of student learning outcomes Excellent communication skills written and verbal Demonstrated passion for student learning and success Preferred Qualifications Practitioner/private industry experience in entrepreneurship, innovation, and organizational strategy preferred Academic credentials and professional experiences that allow for interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary teaching Personal educational and/or teaching experience at an Historically Black COLLEGE or University (HBCU) or other Minority Serving Institution (MSI) Experience using Open Educational Resources and multi-media resources Demonstrated experience using multiple pedagogical approaches Application Procedures Interested candidates must submit the following application materials: 1.

Professional References (3 minimum) Candidates selected for a campus interview will be expected to prepare and deliver a 15-20-minute teaching demonstration in the discipline she or he intends to teach. In March 2017, Paul QUINN COLLEGE received designation as the ninth federally recognized Work COLLEGE in the country. This recognition is especially notable since Paul QUINN COLLEGE is the only Work COLLEGE in an urban setting and the only Work COLLEGE at an HBCU or Minority Serving Institution. The Work COLLEGE designation forms the foundation of Paul QUINN COLLEGE s New Urban COLLEGE Model, which positions the COLLEGE for national expansion.
