Pavenham Park Golf Club Seniors Trophies Pavenham Park Seniors Red & Yellow Ball. This is the same as the Yellow ball competition with the addition of red ball which scores triple points. See below for explanation. 1/3rd Handicap allowance + Mulligans This is a pair s game where each player in the team has 1/3rd of their handicap taken away and each player has 2 Mulligans given to them to be taken as and when they chose. AM-AM Team Stableford Teams consist of four players. You may choose your partners without any handicap restrictions. Each player plays a normal Stableford round with full handicap allowance. Scores for each player are recorded as normal - 4/2, 3/3 etc. - for each hole under A, B, C and D. The card is pre-marked to show how many players scores can count on each hole 2, 3 or 4. The total team points on each hole is then recorded at the bottom of the card and totalled as normal to give the team score.

The winners will be the team with the highest number of aggregate Stableford points for the round. Texas Scramble This game is normally played as a four ball team, where all the handicaps are added together and the team gets 10% of the total of their handicaps (this will include points of a handicap total 76 10% = ), if a four ball! 4 drives must be taken by each team member. The team then chooses a drive and that ball is marked, if on fairway each team member may place the ball within 6inches of the marker or if on the green the same marked place, if the ball is not on the fairway it must be dropped again within 6inches. The team chooses the best score for that hole (the team then marks on the card who took the drive), the score for all holes are added up and the handicap allowance as in are taken away to produce a final score for the team. Dusty Bin. This is similar to a Waltz game but in reverse 1st hole x by 3, 2nd x 2, 3rd x 1, 4th x 3, and so on.

Captain v Vice-Captain Trophy The format is fourball better ball over 18 holes with each hole being won worth 1 point to the winning side. Halved holes count for nothing. The result of each match is added to produce the total number of points won by the Captain s side and the Vice-Captain side. The winner of the OPA Trophy is the leader of the team with most points . (Apparently OPA stands for Grandad in Dutch) Chicago Format The Chicago golf format - which can be played as a tournament or as a betting game within a single group of golfers - starts each golfer with a negative amount of points, then awards points for positive achievements during the round. The object is to move from negative points into positive points - known as "clearing your hurdle" - and the golfer (or team) who gets farthest into positive territory is the winner. Starting Points for Golfers in Chicago Format The negative points each golfer begins with in the Chicago format are based on handicaps and begin at -39 (minus-39) for scratch golfers.

Point totals then go up, towards, zero, from there one stroke/one point at a time: a 28 handicap golfer starts with -39 28 = -10 so there target is 10 point to get to zero and from there on into plus figures Scratch golfer starts at -39 1-handicapper starts at -38 2-handicapper starts at -37 Earning Chicago Points During the round, golfers earn positive points on this basis: Bogeys are worth 1 point Pars are worth 2 points Birdies are worth 4 points Eagles are worth 8 points Team Waltz Stableford A team normally four will say have hole 1 with a multiplier of 1, hole 2 x 2, hole 3 x 3, hole 4 x 1, and so on your total scores are added up and the greatest score wins. S J O Reilly Cup The competition is played from yellow tees with full handicap. All players start from the 1st tee. Players keep a running total of the number of shots used and the objective is to get as far as you can round the course in 72 plus your handicap in shots.

When you have used all your shots you should clearly mark your final position on the card 17th hole, 75yds out or In 16th hole or On 18th green 4ft 5in from hole or if you do have shots left you must continue on the first and so on until all shots used up, (do check with the pro shop first before going ahead). You should bring a tape measure to measure positions on greens. The winner is the person who gets furthest round the course in their allotted number of shots.
