Personal Statements Mr Kenneth Cooper I am a trained professional accountant, working independently from home via my own Limited Company. Working for myself has provided me with a great deal of flexibility, allowing me to be greatly involved in my children s schooling. In addition, my current situation has allowed my wife to study full time for a teaching degree. During my spare time I am a qualified FA football coach, managing a local Woolton under 8 s football team, for whom my son plays for. I thoroughly enjoy training and the children and have built up a great rapport, gaining their confidence and building a relationship of trust and understanding.

Having attended a Catholic Grammar School myself, I realise the difficulties in running and planning around a demanding School curriculum. My children s future is of the uppermost importance on my list of priorities, therefore I would be delighted to be given the opportunity in making a difference in the education, of not just my daughter, but the School as a whole. I would hope my professional experience in attending and fronting board meetings, coupled with my close interaction with children, would be of great benefit. I would hope to be an asset to the School , dedicating my time to be a proactive and effective School governor.

Mr David Fleming I bring an honest and hard-working approach to my work. It is the same attitude I would bring to this important role. I would look to work with parents, teachers, the Head and other Governors to help drive the continued improvement needed to provide our children with the best chance of success. My experience as a Key Leader of the Ecommerce Team at Littlewoods would be ideal in a world for which technology and business are now so key. The voice of the parents is so important in the running of the School . I believe my calm and persuasive manner will ensure that the parent voice is heard.

Littlewoods actively encourages its Managers to work with local schools and thus my commitment will be total. Being available to listen to parents and pupils, bringing different skills to the School from business life and caring passionately about the welfare of all involved in the School are the key qualities I believe a Parent Governor must possess. My family and friends tell me that I can bring those capabilities to the role. So, please vote for me and I will try my very best to make a difference for you and your daughters. Mrs Elaine Green I have 23 years experience in the NHS and have worked as a Medical Secretary since leaving College.

I currently work part-time for a Consultant Paediatric Surgeon at Alder Hey and have been in my current post for 12 years. My daughter is in Year 8 and I attended the meetings held in the Sunflower Centre last year, aimed specifically for the parents/carers of daughters in Year 7, which I found very beneficial. I want the best education for her and every girl at St julie s in a caring environment where every child can achieve their full potential. A Parent Governor would need specific qualities. I would listen impartially to concerns/feelings on vital matters raised by parents/carers and present a balanced view of issues, therefore maintaining an approachable and reliable stance.

Excellent communication skills are essential, and in my role as a Medical Secretary I carry this out to individuals of all levels. Confidentiality is a pivotal aspect and I feel I could bring a different perspective to the Governing Body. I am an enthusiastic, well motivated individual and would relish the opportunity to making a difference to the education of the girls at St julie s. Mrs Shirley Green I have two daughters in Years 13 and 11. Both are enjoying the education experiences offered by St julie s. This makes me supportive of the work and vision of the School . After managing a youth project for 10 years, I am now employed as Learning Mentor at St Gregory s Catholic Primary School .

I have experience of School governance as elected parent at my daughter s primary School and more recently staff governor. As Vice Chair I was involved in the training for the Financial Management Standard in Schools (FMSiS) and have completed the National College for School Leadership (NCSL) Safer Recruitment workshop. I feel that I have the expertise and experience to enhance your Governing Body. Mr Michael Madigan I have two daughters that attend St julie s, one who is in Year 8 and the other has started in year 7. I also have four nieces in various years throughout the School so St julie s is a big part of our family.

My reasons for applying for School governor is that I have an obvious interest in maintaining high educational standards at St julie s both now and in the future. Working for one of Merseyside s largest private employers I believe I have gained experience and Personal skills that would contribute to helping the Board of Governors and our wider local community. As a School governor, I feel I could become part of the team that supports the Headteacher, staff and most importantly, the well being and safety of all our children. Mr Michael Mangan Having served as a Deputy Head at Broughton Hall high School from 1990 to 2008, I continue to teach, on a part time basis, at the School .

I believe that my experience of the leadership and governance of a large, all girls Catholic comprehensive School would help me to contribute positively to the governing body of St julie s. Our two older daughters attended St julie s from age 11 to 18; one has just graduated and the other is in her final year at university. Our youngest is currently in Year 10. All have enjoyed the many opportunities provided by the School and have benefitted from the care and expertise of a committed and high quality staff. Having served one previous term on the governing body, I have the interests of St julie s very much at heart and would like to be involved in the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, in whatever ways are helpful to the School community.

Mr Michael Murphy I have two daughters in St julie s, and I am very keen to become a parent governor so that I can raise issues which are of concern to the pupils and parents, whilst also helping to represent the parents view during governors meetings. As a parent I value education highly, and would work to keep the standard of education offered at St julie s to a high standard for the benefit of all pupils. Mr Anthony McCormack I am a married father of three daughters, aged 15, 13 and 9. The two eldest both attend St julie s. My career background is in the Engineering/Manufacturing sector.
