Value focused. results driven. PM Forecasting in Maximo Craig Mackenzie, Ontracks Consulting July 10, 2013 What is PM Forecasting Versions/History How does it work? PM Forecasting Logic / Rules Demonstration Agenda Fore cast verb to predict (a future condition or occurrence); calculate in advance PM Forecasting provides the functionality in Maximo to predict PM Work Order generation based on the time-based and/or meter-based frequency of the PM. What is PM Forecasting ? Maximo Forecasting Functionality Included Maximo and prior No Forecasting functionality included Common methods used to provide this functionality Custom Report 3rd Party Scheduling Tool Searching/Querying Versions / History How does it work?

Frequency Frequency Frequency Today Time Estimated Next Due Date Previous Forecast Date + Frequency Previous Forecast Date + Frequency Previous Forecast Date + Frequency PM Forecast stored in the PMFORECAST table Time-Based PMs: First Forecast Date = Estimated Next Due Date* where Estimated Next Due Date = Current Date + Frequency (Frequency/Units) Subsequent Forecast Dates = Previous Forecast Date + Frequency Meter-Based PMs: Estimated Next Due Date = Last Start Date + (Meter Frequency days/Average Meter Units per Day) Subsequent Forecast Dates = Previous Forecast Date + (Meter Frequency days/Average Meter Units per Day) - If an associated Job Plan has a duration listed, the duration will be used to calculate the next forecast date.

For example, if the Job plan's duration is 72 hours ( 3 Days) and the next due date is 01/20/2013. A WO created for 01/20 as the Target Start Date is expected to be finished at 01/23(3 Days duration). Then, after 3 days (Frequency) from the estimate Target Comp Date, the next WO will be forecast from 01/24. *For meter-based PM s, they system uses the Average Meter Units/Day to determine the Estimated Next Due Date. PM Forecasting Logic PM Forecasting takes into consideration the Seasonal Dates on your PM(s) If a PM has an Extended Date, this date overrides the Estimated Next Due Date in a forecast. All subsequent forecasts will use the Estimated Next Due Date. PM Forecasts are not duplicated when a PM is duplicated For PM Hierarchies, only the Top-Level PM is forecasts.

Maximo Scheduler uses and can (in certain cases) edit PM Forecasts PM Forecasting Logic You can enter a New Date only for the first forecast date of a meter-based PM, not for subsequent dates. Since the first forecasted date is based on the Estimated Next Due Date, you can modify that date in the forecast. Subsequent forecast dates are determined by the Average Units per Day, so they are approximate. You can enter a New Date only for the first forecast date of a PM that has its Use Last WO's Start Information to Calculate Next Due Frequency check box cleared. You cannot edit subsequent dates, as they are approximate. You cannot enter a New Date that is the same as, or earlier than, the previous forecast date.

Editing a PM Forecasting Other Notes CRON Update PM Forecasts automatically, based on specified criteria Actions available in to leverage in a Workflow or Escalation Delete Forecast Generate Forecast Reforecast Why should we use this functionality? By Forecasting , you ll be able to better manage: Labor requirements Material/Service/Tool availability Work load-leveling Better sequence work activities Demonstration
