2 Should the condition be beyond one's level of training and/or experience, consult a physician in an appropriate and timely manner. Credentialed medical procedures to include, but not limited to the following: o Administer intravenous, intramuscular and subcutaneous medications; Anoscopy;. Arthrocentesis (excludes hip); Burn management; Cultures (throat/wound); Ear irrigation; Eye irrigation; Foreign Body Removal (rectal, extremity and uncomplicated ear/nose); Incision and drainage of abscesses & thrombosed hemorrhoids; Ingrown toenail removal initial interpretation of radiographs; Initial management of, envenomations and exposure to hazardous materials; Initial management of orthopedic extremity injuries, uncomplicated (splints); Interpret laboratory results; Laceration repair, complex (excludes flexor tendon repair and repair of neurovascular damage), Laceration repair (simple).

3 Local Anesthesia (topical/ infiltration) and Regional Anesthesia (digits); Nebulizer treatment;. Ocular tonometry, fluorescein and slip lamp examination; Perform venous puncture for laboratory studies; Secure and maintain an adequate airway; Secure and maintain adequate intravenous access by peripheral routes; Suture Removal;. Wound care (evaluate and direct management). o Collect and record, in proper format, medical and social historical data appropriate to the patient's condition. o Perform a general physical examination. Record the findings in proper format and determine medical qualification for various purposes. o Become familiar with the hospital formulary and prescribe pharmaceuticals according to the drugs listed.

4 The Pharmacy Service will provide instruction to all prescribing providers on substitutions of generic drugs. o Generate and maintain proper medical records on beneficiaries to whom treatment is provided IAW AR 40-66, medical Records and Quality Assurance Administration. All records generated in-the performance of this contract remain the property of the government. o Follow the established operating procedures of the MTF and clinics where services are provided. Providers shall participate in the quality control activities of the MTF to include the quality control activities established for each department or clinic the provider works. Meet Continuing medical Education (CME) requirements and other mandatory training (such as AHLTA and health care system automated processing) when required.

5 Perform other related duties as required. Education / Skills and Requirements: Citizen; fluent reading/writing/speaking English Graduate Family Nurse Practitioner of an educational program accredited by the Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation on behalf of the American medical Association or an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner Program. Current, active, valid and unrestricted state license to practice medicine in one of the fifty states in United States or the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or Virgin Islands as required to obtain or renew a DEA registration number under the then effective DEA rules. If required, must have or obtain a current, valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration number prior to performing the contract services.

6 A minimum of at least one (1) year of primary care experience treating patients of all ages for routine, urgent, and emergent diseases and injuries. No more than 12 months since the last work assignment. Certifications o Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) as certified by the American Heart Association. o Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as certified by the American Heart Association. Other Requirements: Personal Appearance: o Contract employees shall wear appropriate attire as to dresses, pants or slacks, shirts or blouses with collar and sleeves. All outer clothing shall be clean, well- fitting and fresh each day. Tank tops, cut-off pants or similar items of apparel are strictly prohibited.

7 Employees must adhere to the standard dress, appearance and hygiene established by the MEDCEN Memorandum 1-7 WAMC dress and appearance policy. o Shoes shall cover the foot to meet sanitation and safety requirements. Open-toed shoes, sandals, or shower shoes are prohibited. o Fingernails shall be clean and not extend one quarter of an inch beyond the flesh tips. No artificial nails or extensions. o Hair shall be neatly groomed. The length and bulk of hair shall not be unkempt or of extreme appearance. Physical Requirements: o Must be able to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word, including activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers/students accurately, loudly, or quickly.

8 O Must be able to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and possess the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound. o Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of finger dexterity, kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion. Must be able to perform medium lifting exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and /or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
