2 ITSS provides IT support services to Central Office personnel and associated sjsu faculty (PI's), CO Student assistants, on-line users, including training, trouble- shooting, upgrading, and providing installations, configurations, and advice. As a member of the Research Foundation Information Technology team, this position provides IT support to the Research Foundation computer operations, application programming and network activities associated with business applications, Primary responsibilities includes end users support, funding alert program maintenance and new web form creation, business application testing, and standard operating procedure (SOP) creation and update, and providing excellent customer service, internally and externally.

3 ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: User Support Answer trouble calls/emails (computer problems, questions, provide customer service). Train users on hardware, software, and network usage. Assist users with using ONES olution, file shares, printers, scanners, mobile devices and other technologies. Assist in creation of ONES olution users. Install/Refresh departmental computers as necessary. Set up web meetings for the departments. Software & Hardware Support Funding alert program maintenance. New web form creation. Business application testing. Install and configure operating system and new applications.

4 Configure, repair, and refresh desktop and laptop computers used by staff. Track inventory of all workstations, laptops, and mobile devices. Other Duties Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) creation and update. INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS: 1. Reports to the IT Manager. 2. Works and interacts with department staff and managers, other Foundation co-workers and university faculty. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Education Must be a Student properly enrolled and in good standing at either sjsu or another institution of higher learning;. actively pursuing a master degree or a bachelor's degree in a computer related program is required.

5 Must have at least (2) years of college required. Must maintain a GPA in a manner that conforms to ongoing pursuit of higher education credentials required. 2. Experience One year IT related experience (including user support, software and hardware installation/configuration) is required. One year experience in SQL and web programing experience is preferred. 3. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities required Strong knowledge of and demonstrated technical proficiency in Microsoft Windows based workstation support including File Sharing and Print Servers, automated patch management, enterprise anti-virus/anti-malware, imaging, configuration, etc.

6 Ability to troubleshoot unfamiliar applications, generate support documentation and assist end users. Comprehensive knowledge of SQL, web programing language HTML, CSS, ASP, XML, VBscript, and JavaScript. Excellent writing skills; grammar, spelling and punctuation. Ability to use initiative and sound independent judgment within established guidelines. Ability to organize work, set priorities and meet critical deadlines with little supervision. Ability to work effectively and maintain cooperative working relationships with others. 4. Physical Requirement Must be able to operate a PC including mouse and keyboard.

7 Must be able to operate general office equipment. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time. Visual acuity associated with concentrated computer use. 5. Complexity of Duties Works under general supervision on specific assignments following established policies, procedures and practices. Work is subject to regular checks and review to ensure compliance with procedures. Failure to achieve results is normally capable of being overcome without serious effect on schedules and programs.
