2 Bowling Equipment With A-2 Pinsetter Electrical Requirements 1 IntroductionThis brochure was compiled to tell the customer where he must provideelectrical power, receptacles, outlets and connections to accommodate thevarious pieces of brunswick 's Bowling equipment. In some instances, itsuggests a means of arriving at these locations. It should be noted, however,that these are merely SYSTEMS AND METHODS USED ARE THE COMPLETERESPONSIBILITY OF THE CUSTOMER AND HIS ELECTRICIAN ,AND MUST BE ACCEPTABLE BY LOCAL Bowling Equipment With A-2 Pinsetter Electrical RequirementsNotes and wiring for 115-230 Volts must be furnished and installed by thecustomer. All single phase equipment (specified for either 115V or230V) is designated for operation on a minimum sustained voltage ofeither 110V or 220V.

3 For A-2 pinsetters, nominal voltages of 115, 208and 230 are designed for operation of minimum sustained voltages of95, 175 and 190 local codes require conduit, raceways, wireways or other devices forwiring to, from, or between brunswick equipment, the installation andmaterial costs of these devices must be considered when designing yourbowling outlets for vending machines, fans clocks , housekeepingappliances, exterior lighting and signs, emergency lights, sump orejection pumps, , must be considered when designing your telephone company should be consulted in reference topublic telephone installation . Wall telephones are preferable overbooth low voltage communications systems from the control desk tothe Bowler's area is desirable for service and trouble low voltage communications system should be considered fromthe control desk to the pinsetter cost, design and installation of the manager's control desk is theresponsibility of the electrical utilities such as light, Tel-E-Scores, Automatic Scores,etc.

4 , should be controlled by switches installed in the control panel ofthis desk by the customer. A private house telephone, public addressand communications system should be installed here. Music may alsobe provisions for such items as cash terminal, control console,countertop advertising, sales display lighting and general utility outletsshould be other wiring, switching, etc., is the complete irresponsibility of thecustomer. 5 The wire andcircuit breaker supplies are based on the use of a separate circuit for eachpinsetter. If two pinsetter are connected on a single circuit, these sizes must beincreased ResponsibilityTo supply all necessary feeder wiring up to and including the ceiling mountedjunction box, with a flexible drop cord (rubber sheathed, 3 conductor, 12 gauge,type "S" service cord, or conduit, per local code) extending down from this boxto within 5'2" ( cm) above the playing surface of the lane. Brunswickwill supply the connector to be installed (at the end of the drop cord) by ResponsibilityTo supply connector for the end of the drop cord. 6 Reference Figures 1 & SupplyPinsetters will be supplied to operate on one of the following voltages, asdetermined by your utility company. All motors require 60 cycle, 1 phasesupplies. Bowling Equipment With A-2 Pinsetter Electrical Requirements 5 Tele-E-Foul Power OutletLocationSubway ball returns - the power outlet is to be located 18" ( cm) beyondthe foul line toward the pit and mounted on the right hand anchor strip beneaththe ball return cap. Reference Figures SupplyTel-E-Foul circuits must be separate from any other equipment as surges willsometimes cause a foul to be registered. There must be no more than 8 lanesper fused circuit, switched every 2 lanes at the operator's control desk. Powerdemand is 115V/230V, 60 cycle, 1 phase, 1 amp, AC, 20 W.

Reference Figures SupplyPower must be provided by the customer for the motor control box (whichservices the ball lift, hand dryer and pinfinder) 115V, 60 cycle, AC, 1/4 , 6amp, grounded or 208-230V, 60 cycle, AC, 1/4 , 4 amp, grounded.

8 Refer-ence Power Requirements and Receptacle ResponsibilityTo wire to, and connect junction box furnished by brunswick . Customer is alsoto install and connect wiring from junction box to motor control box; to installand connect wiring from motor control box to hand dryer, to connect wiring(supplied by brunswick ) from motor control box to ball lift ResponsibilityTo furnish junction box, to supply wiring from junction box to motor control box;to supply wiring and connector from motor control box to hand dryer; to supplywiring from control box to ball lift motor; to supply and install low voltagewiring from motor control box to automatic pinsetters. Bowling Equipment With A-2 Pinsetter Electrical Requirements 7 Rotary Machine Power Outlet (Wood Lanes Only)LocationIn an area so located to service complete lanes within a 75'0" (2, cm), 3conductor cable length, radius of the outlet.

9 Number of outlets furnisheddependent on size of installation . Suggested location in 5" ( cm) approachriser at each ball return terminal rack. Reference Figures Supply115V, AC, grounded power outlet.
